UTAH (and Surrounding Areas) BS Thread

Welcome back... how long you in town for?

 

I'm at the ikea now... Girlfriend wanted to go see it. Holy cow it's quite large!

Here till Tuesday or Wednesday.

 

I hate that store, it's like 3 miles of walking and always packed. I do not envy your day. Too bad you weren't staying longer, I'm sure you could talk some people into doing something...

 

We need to have a Central Utah meet

 

Oh god I know. We walked the whole thing too, no short cuts. Even my feet were getting sore at the end. But! At the end we could smell the cinnamon rolls, it was like sweet heaven! After checking out we bought some. 6 cinnamon rolls for 4 bucks! Killer deal. That little food stand had some dam good prices!

Ya, if I had more time and prepared sooner might have been able to have a day thing, but between hanging out with the gf and her brother the New Years party I don't really have a whole day of down time, unless instated for a whole week.

Could be cool haha.

Well me and my girlfriend come down to visit her brother, who happens to throw some pretty dam good parties! No free blow but whore trains usually end up showing up to these things.

At a state liquor store atm, haha fuckin crazy as one would expect being New Year's Eve.

No drinking and driving happening at this party of course! Everyone else have a happy New Years and see everyone in 2013!!!

 

Coming back to Utah on the 17th with my new Taco.. She'll see snow for the first time being a Vegas truck.

Going ice fishing so will certainly be having some fun.. I moved away from Utah 7 years ago. Come back every few months to visit my fam. (and watch the Cougars)

 

We killed it at Mantua the other day. Even caught a nice large mouth

 

Nice.. Yea I'll probably hit Strawberry of Scofield like usual.. Strawberry is always decent but last winter they were all pretty small. Hopefully they've grown a bit for me.

That and I have a fishing tent and heater this time

 

I'm not a huge fisherman, but I would like to try ice fishing some day. Of course a tent and heater would be very nice... what other "specialty" tools do you need?

 

Well. you need an auger to drill into the ice. When it's thick a motorized one really, really helps. Also I have a pole I've made myself that is cut down and like 3ft long, with a little custom spring on the end to alert me when I get a nibble. Some people cheat and use little stands that automatically set the hook and such, but that takes the fun out of it.

Stay warm, make sure the ice is frozen thick enough, bring and auger and enjoy.

Going to try East Canyon tomorrow. Just bought a heavier pole for the burbot bash at flaming gorge in Feb.

 

Taylor, how'd your rack work out with the load bars? Have you had a chance to get them powder coated yet?

 

Took too much time during the break to go snowboarding rather than run to the powdercoater. I haven't had them coated yet, should take them in sometime soon (hopefully before school starts on the 14) then I still have to get the bolts to mount the basket then get the ski attachments to the basket. I should have just gone your route :/

 

In the end you'll be fine. Your basket etc will be sweet on there once you get the peices you need.

the best part about here, is the Po Po are absent for the most part around here you can get away with anything.! shooting guns at night etc.
