Sorry to start up another thread, but I read Croms writup about the ABS mod and wanted to see if it's possible? I have a 2010 sport prerunner.... so when having the held down the VSC off switch, which in enhances the auto LSD how can I get the VSC to not kick in after 30mph and have the auto LSD stay working??? I like the effects/grip of the auto LSD but don't like the VSC working aginst me (or backing me off the throttle) after 30mph. And if I stop and hold the VSC off switch for a few seconds I just get an open diff which doesn't help either... Is there a MOD around this to keep the auto LSD on after 30mph without VSC kicking in?? Please say there is... Thanks :)

I'm not sure I understand why you would want that. ALSD is to prevent one tire fire, something that is not going to happen at 30+ miles and hour. If it did I think you'd want the VSC to keep your ass in check

Yes :D. Has this been done, or is it not possible with how the vehicals electronic systems are set up?

Is it possible into tricking the speed censer in some way so the VSC system still thinks its under 30mph and will not reengage?

Maybe installing a mechanical LSD would be your best bet. Then you can turn off vsc ( open diff setting) and get what you want. I'm not sure how well the mechanical LSD and trac would play together in the rain or snow in the event of a slide tho...

Ok thanks... that is something I'll take into consideration if there is no way around the VSC an auto LSD. What what go into installing a mech LSD? Or what a E locker be my best bet?

an lsd would be more usable in a street scenario. I would honestly look for one out of a 2008 and older sport truck w/o VSC and trac as those were the only ones that came with mechanical lsd's. anything with VSC new or old will be the same setup you currently have and not have a mechanical lsd.

Personally I miss the mechanical LSD from my 07 taco, it was much better than the simulated on using the rear brakes and doesnt eat your brake pads like the auto LSD mode will under heavy use.

do the ABS on off switch mod and install a detroit tru trac in the rear diff. solve all your problems.
