The instructions. It's not really not just RPM based, it's RPM and boost, but it's easier for me to type that then the following:

You can't alter the fuel mixture when the the ECU is in closed loop if you have an AFR sensor (newer toyota upstream o2 sensor in the 2000+ tacos). You can add all the fuel you want with the 7th in closed loop, but the ECU is just going to skyrocket the fuel trims on the factory injectors leaving u with no gains. 7th injector tuning can only happen in open loop. The URD kit taps the ARF sensor for closed loop feedback. And while you can alter fuel mixture in the lower RPM ranges in open loop, there's generally no need because the factory fuel injectors supply adequate fuel up until around 3000 rpm and 4 lbs of boost. I don't know what map you have on yours, but if you pulled it up I'm willing to bet the map cell won't show any additional fuel from the AIC until 3k rpm and 4lbs boost.

That said, the only other time I would add fuel in closed loop is when the ECU starts making the fuel trims exceptionally positive in an attempt to maintain closed loop (which is exactly what the ECU always tries to maintain). I would add fuel at this point to get the trims closer to zero. To do this you would need the AFR calibrator which tricks the ECU into thinking that the air/fuel mixture is still stoich (14.7:1).

Thanks for the info I don't remember having it when we setup my truck. It was a while ago now so I could just have forgotten. I only remeber wiring instructions and the rest of how it was setup was mostly thru the help of custom taco members.
But what I do remeber is that many people warned me of running the pulley, additional air, and exhaust without modification to the tune. I believe it also had something to do with the climate range my truck is used in and trying to make it work well all the time. I also ended up running an AFR calibrator.

What got me on the topic to begin with is that I have a problem with longetivity of my precat O2. I have had to replace it every few years. Which is why I plan to get the truck on a dyno and tune it before summer. Might be something to think about, its what people urged me to do and I never took the time years ago.

sorry man don't need to clog your thread. I'm just getting ready to brush up on all this tunning stuff.
