    In my sig
Mine used to do same. I started working shoulders Branch Warren style and it went away. I warm up using reverse fly machine. Start super light for reps and make my way up. End up doing over 100 reps before going into presses. Gets the blood flowing good in them shoulders.

My tendons pop around in my knees on squats and hamstring exercises, especially in the one that I blew out a few years ago. It probably doesnt help that my q angle isnt optimal in my knees, though I have been working to improve that.

We'll do ring planks for time and some of the workouts include situps or leg raises. I assure you that most any WOD will give you a killer core workout along the way.

Toes to bar can be in a workout, sit-ups, GHD sit-ups, weighted situps, etc. Any type of core work can be added to a crossfit workout. If you are asking if we spend an entire workout on core work, the answer is no. It is a tool that is incorporated into the workout of the day.

Okay fellas. Ill keep it sweet and short: I wanna bulk up as much as possible and lean down for summer. Ive been doing full body 3x a week and going to the gym 5x a week, with doing some splits/ pushups/pullups on either fb days or the 'fb off' days.

Should I bulk for a couple weeks, lean for a couple (or however long, havent looked too much into leaning) or bulk for half semester, lean for half? Please help anyone who is knowledgeable in this aspect.

You realize that over head squat is almost as much core as it is shoulders and quads. he wouldn't be able to keep his form or balance without core strength.

Yes I realize that. I should have worded my question better.

Now that I look back it looks like a "do you even lift bro?" Question.

What I meant was... I notice that the major exercises in crossfit incorporate the core (a lot) I was interested in how often the core was trained and what exercises are used in crossfit to do so. (Thanks AvsFanTrd and memario for the answers.)

Whenever I see crossfit comps or videos its usually squats, clean jerks etc... That is all.

How much "bulk" are you looking to gain? The more weight you plan on adding, the longer you will be in that "bulk" stage. On average it takes an extra 2500 calories/week to gain 1lb/week.

Then to lean up or lose weight it is an average of eliminating 3500 calories/week from your diet to lose about 1lb/week.

Both scenarios also need you to be eating quality foods or you won't be going in either direction.

Haven't been in a weightlifting gym ever since I've started crossfit. There's nothing natural about pumping iron in certain directions over and over.

Try throwing a 20lb medicine ball 10ft in the air 50x in a row, pull ups, and jumping onto a 24" box 20x each set. You'll be humbled at the shape you'll eventually become.

You're using every muscle in your body every rep.
Make it fit you; the principles are few, and the applications are many.

I wouldn't be as passionate about this if I weren't in your shoes not too long ago. Just saying; haven't looked back.

hey guys just had a quick question. Some guys today were givin me shit cause i dont touch the bar to my chest on bench. Is it really necessary to touch the bar to your chest? I've always heard that a fist distance is the right amount.

it's personal preferance. if touching the bar to your chest causes you some sort of pain or discomfort... don't do it. but what i'm guessing is that those dudes where coming from a power lifting stand point and then yes, not touching the bar to your chest would not be considered a true bench press. don't confuse touching the bar to your chest with bouncing it off your chest... for me, i touch that bar to my boobs every damn time

yeah man, it doesn't look good because it's not... it's cheating and it's asking for a broken sternum or upper rib. if you see a dude bouncing the bar off his chest them he doesn't know what he's doing
