I don't see anything wrong with complaining about some missing standard features. Are we not allowed to discuss these things without everyone putting on their fanboy pants and forming a lynch mob? We're all here because we love the Tacoma, but that doesn't mean we can't have some gripes about it. I don't think OP was bitching, rather just saying it surprises him.

Personally, I'm a bit surprised the it doesn't come with 6-way adjustable seats and climate control. My 2005 WRX (which is far from a luxury car) comes with those features. Auto lights would also be nice as well as the auto up windows.

FWIW, I did my research. I knew this going into the purchase, still made the purchase because it was the best truck for me. But, I was still disappointed that these were not standard (or even optional) on the truck.

Please. There's a reason why there are DIY guides on this forum for an illuminated 4x4 switch and led cup holders.

I swear the same people in here bashing the OP would be praising Toyota if their new 2014 model came standard with these options.

No rear discs. My biggest complaint. And still no MP3 functionality in my 07. And the hood scoop...haha.

This. I'd kill for heated mirrors and I don't live in Canadia or the northern US.

Can we arrange you to come to Alberta too.... I'm with OZ on this one, my only complaint is no heated mirrors.

I also agree that you should be able to tell whether your lights are on or off during night driving. Come on people!

Lastly... seriously? You turned on your heater instead of putting it in 4wd??

I'm headed to the airport now....

Seriously now. Check this.... and mark my words, I'm signing up for the 2013 Christmas swap.... If I get your name as a giftee, you'll get a relay set, the elusive "heated fucking mirrors" you talk about and the OEM Highlander switch. :D

... Because we all know you just want some "heated fucking mirrors".

If you think I'm shitting you, think again. Sound like a plan?

I'd love to, but I can't help EVERY Canuck up north. Plus, Oz and only a few other Canucks make me laugh. :D

    Not everything.

The lighted 4x4 switch will soon become a thing of the past. The 2013 switches are solid black with screened lettering. When the current limited stock of lighted PC boards is gone, that's it.

Lighted ignition switch is not an option on any Tacoma. Sure, you could Mickey Mouse something together but it won't look factory.

The lighted fog light issue is not a "cheap" fix when you consider that the FJC switch and harness are around $70.
Yes, you can Mickey Mouse a 2nd light into the existing switch, and it takes a fair amount of skill to make it look good.

Sound deadening? Neither cheap, nor easy unless you are familiar with gutting a Toyota interior and dropping the headliner.

And why should we have to do any of this to a $25-$30k truck?
A $20k base model? Okay... I'll give that to you, but for something as simple to DIY as intermittent wipers and cruise, why are they not even available on any 2.7?

Hell... my '03 Tundra not only had extenders on the visors, but it also had secondary visors above the regular ones so you could shield both the front and side at the same time.
