Problem is getting down deep enough and quick enough. Every 33 feet is the pressure of 1 atmosphere, or 1 Bar. So it would take longer for the dry ice to produce enough gas to rupture the bottle depending on depth, but on the other hand, with the compression of the bottle, the volume may be decreased and it would take the same time to rupture.

If dry ice was easily accessible in the Caribbean, I would TOTALLY try this!

One thing that I would be scared of is the pressure shock caused by close rupture if the dry ice was successful.... I like being able to hear!

I'm assuming if the bottle was empty and capped, then submerged 120ft. That also must rupture when the air needs somewhere to go when the volume of the bottle decreases.

So much fun! Just take an egg or two with you in your BC or on the boat next time and have the DM hand it to you. It's fun.

    How often do you dive?

I used to do stupid shit like that, but now I go and chill at 105ft with Nx32, pray I don't get narcosis, and try to find cool things to take photos of.

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
IMO bullbars look weird. They look nice from the front but i hate how they look from the side. I painted behind my grill, moved the horns and the temp. sensor. It was really easy and looks alot better. Now you just need a big old school toyota emblem on that grill ;)

    Welcome!

No the air gets compressed. That's why the bottle compressed too.

At 100 feet, a lung full of air takes more than 3 breaths on the surface.

You can spend hours at 20 feet, but you can blow through a tank at 120 feet in a matter of minutes

Anyone know a decent $25 mod I can do? I got one of those Visa cards and I want to spend it on the trail groomer

Transmission and front differential breather extension. Not trying to be a dick, just figured that's a good mod under $25. Otherwise, maybe pick up some good car care supplies. :notsure:

Was certified in 2004 while in college (got two credits for it). I don't dive as often as I would like and I have to admit I'm a cold water snob. All my dives have been in the Florida Keys and the Carribbean. I'm heading down to Mexico in April and definitely want to get at least a dive in while I'm there. It's been a couple years since my last dive in St. Thomas. Luckily I didn't experience narcosis during my two 100ft wreck dives in the Keys.

Using plastic tubing to extend the diff/ trans breathers to a higher location so you don't suck water into them and ruin them.

We used fuel line, it's pretty thick, flexible and will take the heat of being next to the differential or transmission. Plus it pressed onto the barbed ends very nicely.
