well that might be why.. I only paid 21k for my 2010 but I have never paid for anything if I didn't like 110% of it from the beginning. so guess its just hard for me to comprehend. granted I have done mods but its only cause I got bored with my divorce and had to do something constructive.. but anyway didn't mean to offend anyone but if it were me.. look for solutions or ask.. maybe you can put a older 4x4 switch that you can light up in place of it.. and i'm sure you can wire the windows .. but Toyota has to make all the trucks the same and at the end of the day its still about the numbers and have to make it as close to everyones liking as possible so for the minor things ppl complain about or dislike.. its impressive that they got so much right!

The OP didn't get into slinging rocks at Toyota or anything, he was merely noting a few things he would have liked to see included on an otherwise great vehicle. If you and others are "getting a bit tired" of reading these posts then here is a novel solution: dont click on them! It's bullshit for the more veteran members of a forum to develop this condescending unfriendly attitude to people who might be new to a brand or model of truck. I get it, you are sick of reading posts about the same few things but damn that is part of the thing about an online forum- new people are joining all the time! The search button is great but so is having friendly members who are willing to answer questions; even if they have answered that same question a few times before. We new members dont get mad about your inane posts on "Mall Crawling" or whatever else you decide to hate on that day. Remove the stick from your collective asses and realize we are all human beings behind these computers and it's good to be decent to people. My 2 cents. :(

    HOWEVER,

OP started off using boilerplate Trolling style...just like what a fanboi of other makes, or an 8 year old, would do to an 'enemy' forum...so it is what it is.

It's no mystery that these are Tacoma Forums and all the answers are under the search button. Still feels 'trollish'

Give me a break. OP said Toyota does a piss poor job. 'In My Noob Opinion'...GTFO of TacomaForums if that is your introductory attitude.

I agree with you that a few of the things listed in the OP could and should have been included in a $30k truck. BUT, considering the pros of the vehicle that make it a vehicle you will own for many years to come, adding mods to improve on the features you enjoy is worth it. I have added ambient light, bed lights, 4x4 illuminated switch and since owning the truck for a couple weeks was able to develop muscle memory for the ignition and cup holders. Now I have a reliable truck setup the way I prefer.

The other reason that these lacking features are such a surprise to me is because my wife's '08 4Runner has 'em all!

    Auto up window
    Cup holder lighting
    Auto Lights
    Fog light indicator
Climate control (dual climate control for that matter)
    Etc...

You'd think that 5 years later they'd find their way onto the brother of the 4Runner!

I post all manner of more technical info here, for anyone. Sometimes not, sometimes I'm a douche - especially when I don't sympathize. Just like in real life. I didn't read every page in this thread but from what I did and what I saw I didn't see anything too out of line. Need thicker skin.

Agreed. The pros FAR outweigh the cons. I just think it's stupid that there are so many posters that refuse to even admit there are some minor cons.

There are some minor inconveniences but it's not that big of a deal, especially to make some thread bitching about it. The pros FAR outweigh the cons.

I certainly agree that it's not that big of a deal. If someone walked away from this truck due to interior lighting or any of the minor issues listed in this thread, that would be ridiculous. I don't, however, think it hurts to post some of the short comings and chat about it.
