Typically if frame is bent it is a total loss, also varying degrees of frame damage that"can result" in a failure at time of another incident.
They have many rules when determine a total loss

Its not necessarly body or frame damage, but it still made me very angry that someone tried to break into my truck. They failed to do so, but as a consolation prize they broke my mirror. Simple 140$ new mirror assembly. I tried replacing the mirror but i failed miserably and broke some other piece.......

My local police department tazed a guy who fell and knocked 2 dent and put a sctrach on the side of my truck bed. They were not responsible for the damage and I had to sue the guy for repair.... I never saw the money!

    mine has several.

    - Front passenger fender - my fault ... apparently a plastic city trash can is more stronger than my damn fender!!

    - Rear Bumper ... idk, the first dent was already on there, the second one I think was me backing up into something

    - Front Bumper - dumb ass lady backed up into me while I was parked!!!:mad:

    - Misc tabs that I broke while installing upgrades, and such but not as much

    - somehow got some nasty scratches on the sides. possible me, elements, a douche bag? don't really know

pretty sure the previous owner "kissed" a wall or something.. there are little itty bitty creases by the lower valence... cant tell until you are a few feet from the front bumper, but it still irks me to know its there. not as bad as some of you though!
sometimes i hope some moron, *with good insurance*, love taps my bumper to the point I would need a new one... but I think I am doing alright for now :D

Someone hit my truck pulling into a parking place. They hit my right rear quarter panel, knocked the rivets out of mud flap and scratched the fender flare. Not that bad. I didn't notice it until a couple of days later. The POS hit my truck and went inside to eat.

Nope, luckily people around here seem to respect other people's cars... thus far.

Front bumper damage because other people can't parallel park. I need to get some kind of metal bumper like ARB. I have no bumper damage in the rear yet because I leave a ball mount on there.

My brother just came home from the dealer with his tacoma. Nice truck(right). What you can't see is my rear driver door dented in from where he backed into me. His damage just waxed right out... Mine didn't
