I don't know. Someone in another thread said it has something to do with the size of the window and strength of the motor. I don't see much of a difference, so your guess is as good as mine.

I thought you said it was because of a lawsuit.

Size of window/strength of motor would have zero impact. The window rolls up just fine, doesn't it? Then why not be able to pull the button all the way up and just have the motor run on its own until the window is up?

Well when reading it.... I felt this guy was kind of an A-hole cause the reasons aren't that great... I don't mind not having my 4x4 not illuminated, doesn't affect me on a daily basis... Same with the cup holders not illuminated, this isn't a BMW.

But to answer your question. Yeah it was a joke :D

    a) I am only holding up the mirror, you are the one in it

    b) my 55 posts ? guess what I am doing on TacomaForums ? Planning on getting a 2013 AC really soon...I am doing
my research and part of that is becoming a participant here. I absolutely know what I am getting, and where support
for that item really lives and breathes

    c) Not new to toyota, not new to 4x4 adventures, not new to engineering, design, or reasons that multi-nationals
choose certain designs or enhancements for production vehicles...piss-poor is not in my vocabulary...
rather, I study and try to understand the economics behind design decisions by Toyota.

an entire team worked hard on your Taco and to simply write it off as 'piss-poor' really trivializes that hard work.
Nice, What do you do for work, and can I call it piss-poor too ?

    d) and I know better than to jump into a tacoma forum and shat on tacomas

You seem a little butt hurt. Did you design the interior lighting of the Taco?

"Tacoma's interior lighting is piss poor" - that doesn't sound like he "shat" on Tacomas. You say that he is trivializing the hard work of a whole bunch of people by writing the truck off as piss poor, but all he said is that he was less than please with one minor aspect of his truck, not the whole truck. It's alright that he's displeased with it - it's his truck and his opinion.

Get off your high horse and if you don't like his thread or opinion, exercise your ability and right to not click on it.

Geeesh you guys are a tough crowd...

The OP said he was a new Tacoma Owner and loved it. He was just starting conversation by commenting on a few of the things he would have designed differently.

I never understood why they used red\orange for interior lighting...that's really my only gripe.......
