Because it's easier on your eyes at night time if you look at it and then look out into darkness vs a bright white light (or pick a color). Same reason some hotels have red lights in the bathroom. My BMW and my wife's previous car had red/orange interior lights and it makes a difference. The Jetta she now drives has a deep blue almost purple which tends to blend with the lack of light and I find annoying as hell.

Its probably the same as headlights, blueish tint is worst for eye strain, white is the brightest, yellows/oranges are easiest on the eyes

My last "window size" comment answered your question about my earlier "lawsuit" comment, Sam (Grieby54). Anyway, the lawsuit was about a child injured by an automatic window, while (as DoorDing suggested) the vehicles impacted (could cause such injury) has something to do with the size of the window and strength of the motor needed to move that window. Again, I don't know the details (or why the Tacoma was included). It was discussed in another thread.

Man..... there are quite a few internet jackasses here! The O.P is simply stating that he wished the truck came with some of the standard features that can be found in most modern vehicles these days. Forgive me for getting on my soap box.... but honestly, how does any of those negative comments contribute anything worth reading to this thread?? Comments like "buy a car" ..... really??? I'm not sure if you noticed or not... but the interior of these trucks kinda looks car like. You definitely sit in it like you're in a car!

I personally don't like the dash light color either, and would really like some lighting in the center console as well. I noticed that my glove box lacks a light as well.... still have to see if it's simply a burned bulb, or if it's missing entirely??

Toyota does make great vehicles, and I like the fact that the buttons and dials are easily understood, and usable. However, I do find they are behind the curve with some of their luxuries.

I also find the sun visors too thick for nothing. I'd rather not have the flap extension, than not be able to put a remote start, or other little clip-on gadgets to it.

At the end of the day, I plan on modding the truck to my liking anyway... but it would be nice to have some of these items as standard features.....

In all fairness illuminated key rings aren't all that standard are they? My 2005 Cadillac Deville doesn't have one, and neither did any of the other 5 or 6 cars I've owned. It does seem like a good idea though. Sounds like the next mod, glow ring anyone? :notsure:

Toyota did change the dash lighting color to white in 2012 and 2013. I think they did a good job with the interior changes, I wouldn't have liked the orange lighting either.

    No shit.

I have to get out and open the passenger door if I want my passenger window down.

Auto up? Never had that on any vehicle.

What trim level was that 'Runner?
My last company car was an '08 4-Runner SR5 and it had only the fog light indicator.

Hey, there's hope for you. After all, you did post this one comment without a direct mention by you of heated mirrors.

Hell, at the rate he's going, he'll end up melting most of the ice in Western Canada and much of Alaska.

Darn Canadian doesn't know the difference between "AL" and "AR." Former is Alabama, latter is Arkansas. Huntsvillle is home to Redstone Arsenal, NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, US Army Aviation & Missile Command, 750+ defense contracting companies, and similar.
