Did this with the truck color. After a month I went back to my original idea. Just make sure you get what you want up front and you'll never look back. Trust your gut.

Yeah its driving me crazy. If I were to stick with a street tire it would easy and simple to pick, but all terrains and mud tires make my head spin!

I had a hard time deciding. I narrowed it down to the Nitto's, Yokohama's, and Coopers. I really liked the Cooper ST Max (I think that was the one) but they were pricey. But I ultimately decided on the Geolander's due to price, great reviews on longevity, and in my size they were the lightest tire that I liked. Figured It would help with the mpg's. With that said I have 5100's on the way. Not sure if that will affect it, but it can't help in terms of aerodynamics.

I think im going to be a test dummy for the mickey Thompson stz tires. I'm going to talk to discount tire tomorrow aboutordering them.
My dad runs the geolanders and they have lasted for a while. He's probably put 50k on them and they still look good.

Just pay the money and get Goodyear DuraTracs. AT tire with MT look. I drove BFG AT for years. These look better, no louder, and much better when wet. If the price is too much, Discount Tire highly recommended Hankook Dynapro ATM.

These OEM Tacoma wheels were purchased off of Craigslist for $300. then powdercoated to match the highly desirable (and expensive) FJ Cruiser Wheels, then I modified FJ Cruiser centercap to fit OEM Tacoma wheel.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was it to get them powder coated?

3" Toytec spacers, Bilstein 5100s in the back with add a leaf and overloads removed.
Took me awhile to decide what wheels I liked. But when it came to tires, there was only one way to go. Toyo MT/s

I like the toyo's but they are just a little out of my price range.

I knew I wanted the the FJ wheels in Black or Anthracite, didn't care what color. Tires I'm always going back and forth on..But it is always load and weight related.. I'm waffling on Duratracs 265 in C range or 285 in E rating..cannot decide.

$40.00 each, including sandblasting. Classic Powder Coating, Athens, GA (706)227-2300 c/o Eli. I dropped em off, and picked them up. Tire swap was $60, Porterfield Tire Co., Athens, and includes lifetime rotate and balance. Note that stick on weights for the outsides of the wheels are hidden, hammer on weights were put on the back side of the wheel. Porterfield takes great pride in doing quality work and attention to detail. Even my centercaps were lined up with the valve stem on every wheel. You don't get that kind of service just anywhere these days.

OP, I totally understand. So does my wife, I drive her CRAZY when it comes time to buy tires. I start looking months ahead. Heck, sometimes I just get bored and start planning my next set.

Truth be told, I joined this forum to look for some tire deals for my FJ. Actually, my wife's FJ.

Krob32, we got the Duratracs and while they are surprisingly quite for such an aggressive tire, they don't have the road grip of the typical A/T tire. That's why I'm looking for a less aggressive set for daily driving. I had Terra Grapplers prior and they were fine on the road; but try to corner hard with the Duratracs and forget it.
