Suppose I can just go to Irwin Toyota and ask them if the deal goes through.

    Sweet truck!

How long are those clutches usually good for?

That sucks. I need to use something like that. I tried using Tuff Stuff, doesn't seem to work that well for me.

    LACONIA FTW

    1st Gens are bad ass

I replaced mine for my well being, not knowing how bad it was I just replaced it at my dealers cost of AISIN parts. If you dont ride the crap out of it and know how to drive you can see anyplace from 120-300k on an OEM clutch. There is a member here with 300K on stock OEM Clutch, Throw-out bearing, Slave and Master cyl

I'm thinking the opposite. Hate that 4runner and hate the color. I'm warming up the Fj's alittle since Alex has been all over there dick

Figured that dilemma out. Replace the t-case with an inchworm lefty, which will allow me to have 2/4x4 with a 6-speed manual

    $$$$$$$$$

You could have an auto that's easier/better off road, and not have to waste a couple grand on that :)

Put that money into other things, personally, the 4RTE is nicer than the FJ's IMO..

It is pricy, and I can live with full time 4WD, but manual is a must. I hate automatic with a passion. All my previous vehicles were manual and I took the 4Runner because I wasn't fond of the FJ at the time and had no need for a Tacoma. Now I love the 4Runner and the FJ's. I probably should have bought the yellow FJ I was looking at a few years ago... When the time is right, the future fiancée will get the trail groomer as a soccer mom crawlin rig :D and I'll get an FJ manual.

She shouldn't have any trouble getting scholarships or financial aid. Most colleges are pretty good about awarding it as well, even the fancy schools, they have millions in endowment money always looking for smart students to spend it on!

Figured I would post of a pic of my truck - only mod is the window visors....Desperately need to get some bigger tires and more masculine rims. Being cash poor is such a lovely feeling

    photo-30_485de5fb20ee044ac90c3c4b2dcb1e6fc5fd837f.jpg

All this college talk....I got some input. Depending on your career choice/major, paying your own way is definitely not a bad investment. I went to UMass Amherst for Civil Engineering - took out loans and currently am in the hole for about $55K. Despite that being a rather large debt/burden to carry, my career makes it possible to afford a house payment, a truck payment, and student loan payments with cash left over for savings.

My father makes a decent amount of money but with having 4 kids, he stated up front that he paid his way through school and that I will have to pay mine, regardless of his financial situation. Sometimes I get a little jealous when I see all my friends whos parents took the financial hit and payed for them, they are dumping tons of money into savings and buying pretty sweet toys and houses; but it just wasn't in the cards for me.
