^^ Ya it is, planning on doing it over a week+. Got a buddy thats a mechanic helping me. Getting all the parts togeather and layed out. The only thing im not too sure about is the crossmember. Going to have to get the transmission in and measure/design it out and get it fabed up. Also got to get a custom rear drive shaft.

Think it will be a pretty cool project. Got a awesome deal on all the parts so it makes it worth it.

Please explain? The manual mod is just the TC swap. Are you doing something different?

He's got a prerunner, so it sounds like he's doing a 4wd conversion.

Weren't you trying to sell your truck? When did you decide to do that instead of buy a new one?

Full 4x4 swap, new tranny, diff and fj tcase to bypass the electronics along with every bolt, seal and other components.

Was trying to sell it, wasnt worth it for the price i was going to get and the cost for a new one. Dont have much patience either

That is awesome, but definitely have someone who is very knowledgable assist, especially when problems arise (and they will).

Kick ass project, take LOTs of pics, and also make a thread, post the link here.

If you'd like to retain or in your case install the electronic controller for the front diff I've done it and have a good drawing for putting the FJ AT controller in a Taco. Even provided an option for 2WD low.
I wanted it as OEM as possible so it wasn't hard for other drivers in the family. Works perfectly.

    Yours for the asking.
    Good luck

I have spoken to a few people over the last while about a trip to epic Moab, Utah, and a few seem interested. If you have ever wanted to go to Moab - this is an excellent chance to make the trip, but also be led and spotted by people with years of experience there, which really beats going there on your own and trying to figure out trails, spotting unfamiliar obstacles etc.

Stock vehicles can do lots there, but of course lifted, protected and modified susp. more.:D

I'll be going down with others from BC, WA and OR in July, roughly the 11th (Thursday), doing runs the 13 - 16th roughly. Takes a couple days to get there, lots to see on the way back you could plan a great trip. You could see Moab and a couple other things and get back in a week, or extend as long as you want to see other things.

The wheeling will be with a fantastic and large group of people and Toyotas before the FJ event 3 hours away in CO. We were with more than one Taco last year

Anyhow, I'm going to make a new thread in case there is any interest. Moab is also a family place, with tons of activites.

Did you camp or stay at one of the hotels last year Kristen? Was thinking about going to the TW one but its later this year, only 2 weeks earlier then FJ summit. May would be better with work but still might try to make it.

I stay at hotels - the possibility of 45+ degree heat is not soemting I would want to camp in! Look slike the TW Moab trip is a week before I'm there!
