Yeah that's easy to believe....Gwinny just inked up a deal with Trek too so I'm certain Specialized just paid 'em off. I wanted Gwin to dominate on his Trek to be honest haha damnit!

I would be sad if Minnaar left SC lol. Seeing he earned his rainbow this past season, it's not likely but you never know. Maybe Trek is trying to court Ratboy???

I agree, they[SC Syndicate] really are a pretty tight knit group beyond the bikes. The "This Is Peaty" video series definitely shows that.

And a lot of Demo 8 for sale ads being deleted by their posters hahaha

Insane..what a move by specialized. But now we know why Sam hill is on a nukeproof.

Aaron will continue to be a gwinner and prove that its not so much the bike this day and age..he'd be competitive on a haro.

I think you mean Trek and Gwin.

Lots of people sign letters of intent for various reasons. It's a way to indicate good faith while you work out the contract details. A letter of intent isn't a contract though and it usually has various clauses that allow either party out (if they can't come to agreement for example).

23 Degrees is butt-hurt and trying to save face at this point. At least that's my interpretation.

Being that Gwin is probably the best rider they've ever had in their DH program, I can see why they would want to throw legal jargon out there to make knees shake(or try)......

But at the same time, they could have just as easily stepped away from their end of the LOI as well. Most LOI's aren't anywhere close to "legally binding" as a fully written, defined, and signed contract. I think Trek just needs to hunker down and move forward as "cleanly"(pun intended) as possible to keep it about racing[DH] and not about who has the better lawyers in court. They already have the dark cloud of the Lance scandal looming over them probably for the rest of their existence, I don't think it's smart to litigate over an LOI.

I'll be hot on the refresh button expecting news on who will replace Gwin @ TWR!

Time will tell but you're right. Trek could just as easily have walked away.

My guess is this amounts to saber rattling.

What this does, imo, is point out that DH isn't just a bunch of guys competing to see who is the fastest but a business with some very clearly defined obligations on the part of riders.

So basically Specialized fired Sam so that they could steal Gwin away from Trek. That is some F'ed up dirty sh!t. That's why I don't like uber bike companies. They seem to lose sight of the sport and focus on money too much. I'll keep my AMERICAN made Ventana.

I wouldn't characterize it as that.

I would agree that the focus is too much on the money though.
