Yes it is, but I picked up what I could. Hopefully this was a dumb purchase on my part and this all blows over.

The optic is a Burris ar332 which sells for $350.

is there a good ambi charging handle thats not to expensive? it would also need to clear a scope.

also is there a way to be able to swap between a red dot and scope and keep a decent zero? i don't want a scope, red dot combo, because it would be a bit uncomfortable.

Most modern rifles do. I know I don't shoot any of my files as well as they are capable. I was just stating on the hierarchy chrome lined are least desirable. Doesn't mean they aren't desirable just the least.

Please please please, when you put the key on top of that, do it properly.

    • The carrier key must be made to a certain spec of hardened steel quality
    • It is hard chrome-lined per the TDP
    • It and the bolt carrier are fully degreased
    • Correct alignment of the carrier key to the gas tube is checked, ensuring no binding is present. I dry fit mine and tune the gas tube for no interference.
    • Aviation-grade Permatex Form-A-Seal compound is applied to make a high-heat capable gasket between the carrier and carrier key
    • Proper torque is CRITICAL.
    • US-Made Grade 8 fasteners are torqued to 35-40 inch pounds
    • The sides of the carrier key are compression-staked, not peened, to prevent attempted removal of the fasteners (I sometimes Rock-Sett mine instead depending on how mission critical or experimental the rifle is. Mission Critical get staked and Rock-Sett)
    • Use the proper staking tool. Doing it with a punch risks breaking the bolt head.

make sure you stake the gas key screws.

Correct. The staking is gonna be done at a local gunsmith. I don't have a staking tool and am not gonna use a punch.

Charging handle is coming in the same shipment with the barrel but its a BCM handle. And I have all the pins and guts for the carrier. Just don't sit in there very well with out the bolt.

Use new parts from good suppliers. Ask again in 30,000 rounds.
