My friend just bought a 2009 Tacoma Prerunner. The floor mats have holes in them to be secured. The floor has similar holes but no hooks.

In other words, there is nothing securing the mats to the floor.

    What's missing?

    Well, the hooks...;)

But seriously, if the dealer installed the floor mats they should have used the hooks. Maybe they were out of stock or too cheap to pop for them. Have your buddy go to the dealer and pick up a set or look for them online, they only cost about $2 each and are easy to fit.

Or go back to the dealer and say where the hell are my hooks? You shouldn't have to pay for hooks you paid over 20,000 bucks for already.

yea the dealer threw in brand new mats on my used truck, but i haven't worried that much about the hooks. when i test drove the truck the mats were still in plastic, then they detailed it and laid them out but like u said i guess they were too cheap, lazy, or dumb to put the hooks in.

Should be two hooks in the driver's side carpet to attach the floor mat to. My 2006 has them. Probably some lazy jerk at the dealer chucked them. Just got through gluing rubber pad on my mat where my heal was wearing through...

There are special holes in the carpet where hooks can be inserted...But the hooks aren't there.

I'll tell him to check the glove box.

What is the specific name or part number for these hooks?

My friend checked everywhere and couldn't find them. It would help if he knew what to ask the dealer for.

Those hooks are a pain in the arse!I purposely took mine out & stuck a rubber plug in the holes. When I tried to remove my weathertech floor liners out it was a pain to try to get the hooks loose,so I got pissed & pulled em out, plugged the holes and sealed the holes in the liners. The way the truck floor is designed you don't need the things anyway, your mats aren't going anywhere.

I just went to Lowes & searched through that specialty accessory cabinet thing in the bolt & screw section. They have all kinds of cool stuff in there we can use for a fraction of what a dealer would charge.Just measure the hole in the floor,I can't remember the size, but they had a variety of rubber plugs in that cabinet, check it out.
