Good point. Actually, if you are an alum, the "we" is far more appropriate.

College sports is really not very big around here, except for college hockey. This is funny because there are many fine colleges with excellent athletic programs. New England is very parochial and tends to strongly support the local pro teams: Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins. College, not so much.

    Now back OT.

The Patriots don't seem to be getting any love from the national sports media but once again here they are in the playoffs. I see no threat from the Texans and not much more from either Denver or Baltimore.

Patriots vs. 49ers in the Superbowl...

    Pats 51 49ers 31

We had Joey Harrington, Byron Leftwich, and Chris Redman all on the team. AT THE SAME TIME.

You dont think Peyton Manning and the Broncos Defense is even a THREAT to the Patriots? What football are you watching? The Patriots D is mediocre at BEST. and If Denver stops the Pats run game, Tom Brady is screwed.

Wow  what did Denver ever do to you to hate them that much! Not even a threat? I just started laughing out loud when I read that.

Looks like we have another Tom Brady love affair going on here.

The last time I checked, the Patriots had the #1 offense in the NFL and not by a small margin. They use the run to set up the pass. It delays the defense long enough to get separation. They use play-action to perfection. IF Denver stops the run, Tom Brady has plenty of other weapons at his disposal. As for the Patriots D, they give up yards but not a lot of points. Look at the stats.

By the way, the Broncos beat only two playoff teams this year, the Ravens and the Bengals. The Patriots did only beat three, Indy, Denver, and Houston, but had replacement refs take a win away at Baltimore, and had an uncharacteristic first quarter against the 49ers with turnovers, yet still almost won the game.

I just think that the Patriots are a better team than the Broncos this year.

I think that because of the explosive offense of the Pats that they will win but not by much.

The Broncos are a threat for sure. The Pats beat them back when they were getting used to Peyton and the new offense.

    I'd agree with that.

The Patriots also lost to Arizona-at home. I think the key to beating the Patriots and their hurry up offense is to get to Brady. Don't allow him any time. Penetrate the front line like it is swiss cheese.

Dick, I see your problem. Someone needs to tell Campbell that the QB position is best played in the vertical postition.

The probability of verticality is vastly increased if you have an O line that can stay vertical and play until the whistle, too.

Actually, that is one of the most basic disclipline issues I have observed over the years. A big difference between a win and a loss can be playing until the whistle blows on every down, no matter where you are on the field or how close you are to the ball or whatever your assignment is. This is what playoff teams do. But I've even watched Charles Woodson and of course that shitbag primadonna Randy "Terrell Owens" Moss just stop playing mid-down. Pathetic. And for their salaries, criminal.
