Miles driven divided by gallons out of the pump. Any other method is just a guess.

Anything like a scanguage/ultragauge/torque is handy on the fly for determining trends but they're still just modeling a guess based upon data from the computer. Things like humidity, fuel quality, and temperatures can throw the calibration out of whack without you knowing it.

    Congrats to you all....
My 08 is lucky to see 18 mpg ever! My bumpers, lift, terrain and speed kill the mileage. Our interstates are 70 mph limit and you will get run over if your rolling under 75.
I just reduced my tire size last month and keep them at 35 psi...lucky gas is cheap :D

i average 19 highway/city, but have gotten as much as 23 MPG (well 22.95 to be exact). my truck is bone stock, but i have found the best way to save gas in my truck is to not let me wife drive it! she has a heavy foot and likes to feather the throttle a lot, which KILLS my gas mileage. she makes fun of my for driving like an old man, but hey, the more money i save in gas, the more money that can go towards parts for my truck, right?

I have been steadily averaging 19 to 19.5 depending how i drive...not too bad for a truck....luckily gas here in AZ is a lil cheaper than other areas....

TRD Sport DCSB stock tires getting 16.5-19 in town best on the highway 21.7. I also bumped my pressure up a bit due to the way our tires wear on the outside a little more than most trucks and get better mileage.

Currently getting about 18.5 around town, 21 on 100 miles interstate trips. Usually gets better with summer gas and summer temperatures, maybe 1-2 mpg.

Replaced dunlops with Michelin LTX MS2. Had to recalibrate ScanGauge.

On stock size tires (P245/75-16) dashboard odometer is off 2.2% high. Dash speedometer is off 4 mph (high). Recalibrated ScanGauge distance/speed via 100 mile run using mile markers (S/G odometer is now zero error). Gas used (compare ScanGauge to pump) has less than 1% difference.

If you have a ScanGauge, check your distance correction about every 10,000 miles to adjust for tire wear.

most definitely, before my new wheels and tires i did 22mpg coming home from niagara falls to pittsburgh, pretty flat drive. cruise at 73mph, kicked the cruise for the few up hill because the taco tends to go balls to the wall as soon as it loses 1mph. i have bully dog watch dog installed. shows me gph, load, exact mpg, exact rpm, shows just about everything ecu is telling it.

i had 265-65-17 bridgestone on at time, about 7k miles on truck. tonneu

    and im a dclb trd.

now with the 275-65-18 and duratracs not so much :annoyed:
