I like them so far. Seems their grip on the rocks are on par with the km2's

just took a fuckton of weights to balance them

Not true. They've changed the molds so that they aren't backwards on one side. And they don't do white letters at all unless you get the white letter versions. I guess the majority of people did not want white letters so Goodyear is making them either all white letters or all black, not one on each side.

....good thing because I'm anal retentive that way too. :) As for balancing...mine took less weight to balance than my KM2s did. Most weight needed on the MTR was 5oz on one wheel. My KM2s were between 7-9 oz on all of them to get them balanced.

:edit: Nevermind, I just looked at my pics again and you're right the tread is still "backwards" from one side to the other. Boo. At least I don't have to deal with white letters.

They aren't on backwards. The tighter tread always goes towards the inside. They are asymmetrical, not directional.

If they are directional then why can't you flip them around? The tread on all tires should be running the same way.....true?

Yes I know that, I'm talking about aesthetics. Anal retentive normally goes hand in hand with aesthetics.
Look at the damn tire...on one side it looks backwards when compared to the other. This is my complaint. I apologize for not using the work asymmetrical.

How do you like the reds?

That's probably what I'm going to go with.

    Do they dim well?

I think my 98 is the same procedure as your 01-04 in terms of getting to the back of the gauge cluster...

...how much of a PITA was it?

I see all these threads on changing the lights but no step by step on how to actually get to the back of the bastid.

Good call with red. Doesn't fry your night vision as badly.

So many people like blue and they unwittingly fatigue their eyes all night while they drive. Doesn't help when you're tired already.
