    I have not had a CB in 25 years but the old cobra's were the tits. Had a bumper mount at first but a man at rad com told he put it in the roof (Gutter mount) all that steel really helped it pick up..

    i don't need a small one, i just don't want something a foot wide.

    I was actually looking at a very similar one. you canactually detatch the bottom and clib on a battery pack and mini antenna and then use it like a handheld radio. my only gripe with that one is that i use mine a lot, and they done have a good way of mounting as far as i've seen.

    yeah, center of the truck helps a lot. i moved mine frome the taillight to higher up in the center of the truck and it gets (when it's working) much better range and clarity.

    that's just about where i have it, just over the cupholders instead of in.
