Thanks all! I have already used this site quite a bit for technical reference. Good stuff!

Truck has new front brakes since I got it and a number of other maintenance items are on the to-do list.

After pulling the struts, you may want to take them to a shop to have them dismantled and the new billies installed. Compressing the coils with a hand crank can be dangerous. I think you also need a puller of some kind to separate the UCA from the spindle. WhiteToyTaco or Slodgetto would know more since they've torn theirs apart.

BTW, Looks like Saturday is new tire day!

Morning NMers. Getting hungry for Thursday. Was going to suggest an epic multi-truck mall crawl but that thread was closed. We might could be impressive enough to get it re-opened but that guy rightfully won the thread.

yes new ubolts are a must unless they only have a few miles on them. and idk about the bushings, how many miles do you have on your truck?

welcome! hope you find some parts. most junkyards here dont have any tacomas

yea compressing the struts are shitty but can be done quickly if you have air, as you said you did. i used the compressors from autozone which are basically 2 bolts and you tighten them down to compress.

just make sure that you only turn each side a few times, then go to the next side, and repeat. if you tighten one side too much, it might come off of the spring and a lot of energy will be released, which is never good.

when removing shocks, you dont need to remove UCA from spindle:confused:.

:woot: that means saturday is also tire day for me!

So all you need is to undo the bottom eyebolt and the 3 top plate bolts?

Going to drop by Discount Tire around 9am Saturday morning. I'll text you when I get done there. Still need to let Silas know that's when I'm showing up.

Correct. I tried removing the spindle nut on mine when replacing everything. it was a bitch and then I realized it wasn't necessary. I mention such in my build thread.
