    they'd really not going to protect against much more than a tree that you can bend by hand. it may deflect off one thats larger, but a direct hit from a tree more than 6 inches in diamiter is still gonna claim your taillight.

    and yeah, i think they only make them in chrome now, so bedliner would be a must

    I used it once to test out Jess's set up. Worked fine for me. I really like the fact that only thing in the truck for it is the antenna cable under the passenger seat.

    my issue is that i use mine a lot, and there doesn't appear to be a good way to mount it. only thing i could come up with was velcrow or a celphone/gps style suction cup mount

    Sorry I missed the call. I couldn't get my phone with mortar all over my hands...this bathroom is one hell of a project.

    Anyway, I pushed out the larger dent in the bed, but the taillight has seen better days. I don't think it would have protected it from a direct hit, but hell I just grazed the pole...I think I would have been ok if I had a set.
