Thanks for the offer, very kindly of you. Would take you up on it but we got an inside man who frequents this board (Slodgetto) who is already getting me the hook up.

Wish I had known the struts were so easy to pull. Would have just ordered complete struts from Wheelers or the like. For some reason I thought you had to pop the UCA.

Naw.. Those 4 bolts come out, then you use a a bry bar or bottle jack to force the upper or lower control arm down, and out the strut pops.

Classic hard rock from the late 60's & early 70's, mostly; a lot of Deep Purple, some Vanilla Fudge, Spirit, Cream, Mountain, Grand Funk Railroad, Led Zeppelin, etc. .

Geezer Rock, in other words. :turtleride:

I'll post up when we have a gig on our calendar.

Someone here posted that they have a garage. I really need to fix my shifter problem, and have the parts & tools required, but I don't want to have to do it outdoors.

I'd supply beer/whatever (possibly even bacon) & buy lunch as a thank you for a few (2-3 max) hours of garage time, if anyone can help w/ this. I need to get this done soon; the shifting is getting worse & I don't want to damage the tranny. The extreme cold isn't helping, either, even though I use full synthetic in the gearbox, transfer case, diff & engine.

Just a garage in general; a place to work that's out of the wind.

I hate the cold winter wind. Maybe because I'm olde as dirt, arthritic, and busted up. :bananadead: Also, the sun is in my eyes, and the dog ate my homework.

I have to replace the plastic shift lever bushings, which involves popping out the center console (mine's a bench seat), removing the shifter knob, and whatever I need to get out in order to put the new bushings in.

I guess I could just man up, take a space heater out to my truck & work on it in my front yard. :D

I should probably get a fire extinguisher first, though.

Usually, it looks like two consecutive days, both of who's names begin with an "S", that fall between Friday & Monday. :homer:
