17" Konig Six Shooter Wheels - Brand New

    The stock TRD Sport 17" wheels are 7.5" wide, and the offset is 30mm positive (30mm positive offset on a 7.5" wide wheel = 5.5" back spacing).

    There is absolutely nothing wrong with the LT265/70R17 tires that you have right now on 7.5" wide wheels.

    LT265/70R17 maximum recommended wheel width is 8.5". P265/70R17 allow for up to a 9" wide wheel because of the different sidewall construction.

    The 17x9" Konig Six Shooters are not recommended to be used with LT265/70R17 tires, but they are fine to use with P265/70R17, P265/65R17, LT265/65R17 or larger tires (such as the popular size 285/70R17 in either LT or P-Metric).

    Comparing the stance of factory TRD sport 17x7.5" +30mm offset wheels vs. 17x9" 0mm offset Konig Six Shooter wheels:

    The Six Shooters will have 11mm more inside clearance (about .43") from the strut / control arm. The Six Shooters will have a stance that is wider by by 49mm (1.9") to the outside of the truck.

    We have worked with Konig to come out with a 17x8" version of the Six Shooter as well for our customers that want to install narrower tires or specific tires that are recommended to be used narrower wheels. The 17x8" 0mm offset Six Shooter will be released in early Spring.

    For those that want a wider wheel the 17x9" Six Shooter will still be available. For anyone wondering - I also currently have a set of 17x9" Konig Six Shooters on my truck with P285/70R17 Nitto Terra Grappler tires. :)

    wheel backspacing isn't going to dictate whether you need an aftermarket UCA. They are recommended if lifting your truck 2.5" or more, many run without and claim to have perfectly good alignment, most can't tell you their alignment numbers from what I've seen though.

    Hi jmast,

    Good question!

    The Konig Six Shooter wheels will definitely clear stock upper control arms on your 2011 Tacoma with or without a 3" lift. You won't need to add wheel spacers or aftermarket control arms for wheel clearance.

    However, as BuzzardsGottaEat mentioned, you might want to invest in some aftermarket control arms to correct any alignment issues that you might encounter when installing a 3" lift. This is not related in any way to our wheels or any other wheels for that matter (including stock wheels). This is due to the change in suspension geometry caused by installing a lift kit.

    After I installed a 3" coilover lift on my truck, I wasn't able to get my truck's alignment settings to spec until I installed aftermarket upper control arms (UCAs).

    We have installed the Six Shooters on stock Tacomas and lift Tacomas, and there have not been any UCA clearance issues. :)

    I don't have any photos yet. I will try to get some for you guys this weekend. I've been trying to find some time to install new suspension, and I was going to take photos of everything when it's complete. I'll just try to take some photos "as it sits" this weekend.

    Let me see what I can find for you guys. I have had some MGM customers order graphite, so I'll ask them if they can send me some photos. :)

    UPDATE 02/02/2013:

    Due to popular demand, 17x8" Six Shooters (new size) will be arriving on approximately February 20, 2013 (2 - 2.5 weeks from today). I will have graphite gunmetal and matte bronze available in 17x8" at that time, and in mid-late March we will have 17x8" matte black available.

    I will continue to carry 17x9" Six Shooters as well. :)
