I have some older AIS lenses that I use on my nikon. I cant see an issue with your FD lenses on your newer canon body, except that your body probably wont meter correctly or at all, provided that those lenses fit.

edit: beaten to the punch. there you go.

Completely different mount, so they wont work. I dont believe there are adapters either.

Good idea by Nikon to keep lenses compatable

The camera meters to get the correct exposure, and sometimes with an adaptor the camera gets confused and wont meter correctly, leading to wrongly exposed images.

the AIS lenses need a little compensation, more or less, on my d700. in contrast, my regular AF lenses meter just fine, maybe a 1/3 stop above or below, but not extreme like 1.7 stops for my 50mm 1.2 AIS

I think the adapter effects the infinite focus, as in you wont be able to achieve it, or you can focus past infinite, due to the incorrect distance from the rear lens element to the sensor.

what do you have in your lens lineup, and what is shown in that pic? that adapter could be nothing but a pain or an avenue that leads to nowhere

Cool I'd be interested in the results! I'm hoping to get a new camera soon nothing super killer but a dslr t3i I think..

I'd like to play with these either way. But for 150 bucks want to make sure it's kinda worth it. If it is then I have 6 lenses I can use..

What do you mean converter? Like changing the mounts? Id like more info on this. As far as I knew there wasnt anything that could make a FD work on an EF. I guess we still learn something new everyday!

Hey, ill still take it! Lol

2 stops is quite a lot

If there is an adaptor, sorry for handing out the wrong info, i just found out about this today

i have a 50mm, 35mm, and a couple others in storage right now...

i figure it's worth a try since i shoot with two bodies... i can alternate between my primary and put the FD lens on my secondary...

    This does.

    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/89910-REG/Hama_HA_30845_Lens_Adapter_for_Canon.html

Increases focal length by 1.25x and you loose about 1 f stop of exposure. A lot of people seem happy with it. Not hardly any loss in quality.

And if course you loose auto focus.

i am going to try to get it soon as i have some upcoming fashion lifestyle shoots coming up for a new clothing boutique... i can use them as my guinea pig... hahaha...

there are adaptors for it... in fact, i found an olympus lens and they make a converter for that lens to a Canon DSLR...
