im sure they are fun. i always thought of getting a mini for a fun car if the funds were ever there, just cuz they are a blast to drive and the look on peoples faces when a 6'6" guy gets out of a mini is pretty much priceless. but never had the funds to get my own and got a hatchback honda instead that i kept as a dd for a few years. but now im back to just the truck and the wife only has the rav, got rid of both hondas.

I would have a Miata. Those things are great little SCCA cars. I'd have to start going over to the old airports and running some autocross with it.

that and if i butter her up on this vacation then maybe i can convince her to let me buy a basket for the truck afterwards....... or you could just buy the basket for me and ill trade you the 3leaf aal's

Truth is I have thought about one before just for Autocrossing. I almost made the ex-wife let me autocross her ES350, but it had way to much roll on the body (I am not going to clarify which).

How much lift does the wheelers pack provide? And just to clarify, the wheelers aal is a 3 leaf aal?

I miss my integra that I sold when I got my truck. That was a fun little autox car. Had H&R race springs, koni yellows, skunk 2 UCA's, it was lots of fun.

it is advertised as 1.5" unless you leave in your stock overload leaf, then you gain the thickness of that leaf. and yes it is a 3 leaf aal. it is wheelers version of the icon 3 leaf aal. i was told by dan at wheelers that theirs is made by alcan and is identical to the icon other than manufacturer. here is the pm response he gave me.

It's being made, I'm still waiting for Billy to ship. Fortunately, I have no garage or anything right now to put it on, so I'm not that anxious yet.

Know someone who wants an avid bar or hella 500FFs? :D

Full plate, flat top, no extra fancy. I thought it looked the most civilized, and I think the 2x 3500W LED lights is good enough as far as offroad lights.

Will do, I've got an ultragauge, so I'll really have a good idea. I'm hoping it will be pretty insignificant. The bumper itself comes in right around a hundred pounds; I don't think it'll be more than an extra 40 pounds tops once I pull the stock bumper and the avid bar.

I'm hoping it'll be a pretty minor change, if not a wash. Then again, all the more reason to have a miata to commute in.

yeah i bet the hills and curves down 40 and 140 prob do a number on your mpg in the truck. i know my truck nor my wife's rav is fond of them. im more curious as to the effect from an aero standpoint is. i wouldnt think you would lose anymore than you do with a switch to an M/T tire. but who knows???? have you calibrated your UG yet? its super easy just a little frustrating keeping up with the gallons for fill ups to keep it dead on.

Yeah it's calibrated for fuel and distance. In total city I get about 19.2, normal mixed about 20.3, and pure highway about 21.2, so we'll see what happens.

I have a feeling that the bumper won't matter, or if it does, only affect 75+... I typically only go 68 on the interstate because it saves me a ton on gas.
