    that's what they do here, but they don't plow residential streets very often so the pile blocking the driveways can be 2-3' high.

    Residential streets are left for the township/city/burrough. State and Federal highways are done by the state. So removing the snow from driveway entrances would require more $$$ and manpower which is not feasible for some towns.

    city does everything within city limits, province does highways, county does secondary highways. they finally plowed one of the main roads in to the industrial park the other day, the pile on the side of the road was almost as tall as my truck.

    DRIVEWAY IS SHOV...oh...yelling...shoveled all except for the last 6 feet or so where the plow threw big chunks of snow and ice into my driveway from the street. The city can fine you for throwing snow into the street....I wonder if I can fine the city for throwing snow from teh street into my driveway....hmmm...

    in other news, ordered a new couch (sectional) today. the salesman was pushing hard for the extended warranty, after the second time I told him I'm not interested I said "mention extended warranty one more time and I'll take my purchase to another salesman". he almost did, but caught himself.
