Leaving work to get to the Celtics game a bit early so I can warm up for the game. Pregame that is. Its not all about watching the game. You need to drink your healthy serving of brews for the team.

Not even Craftsman anymore, their quality is slipping. If it's a tool I'm only going to use once in a while, I'll go to Harbor Freight. Most of my stuff is Craftsman and it's not like the old stuff.

I agree. If your gonna use it just once or twice then hf is the way to go but for everyday use them use craftsman. Yeah there tools might be slipping alittle but with the lifetime warranty who cares. Just go back to the store and bam a new one.

I promise you, you won't find many people who use their tools every day using Craftsman. They're going to have Mac or Snap-on.

Exactly. I have a discount through school it's 65% off from snap on which makes my co-workers pull their hair out. But it's an excellent deal. Ill never use a craftsman pry bar ever again after what happened over the summer. I was trying to get a tbar key out I was hanging on it and the grip fell off. I went down on my fanny

If i am going to use a tool everyday, and that tool makes me money, i always buy high quality tools. For example rigid tools have a lifetime warranty but i never buy anything from them that i use everday. Sure i can get it replaced but thats a hassle, and i rely on the tools to work. We used to have rigid air conpressors at a framing job i did. We went through 4 in a year. Hell my hammer costs $250, my toolbelt is over $200. Sure i can by a craftsman screwgun for $50, but ill take my makita brushless impact driver for 4 times as much because i can rely on it and it makes my job easier. I use my fein multimaster all the time and payed over $400 for it but i can buy a knockoff at harbor freight for $20. On the other hand, the tools i bought to do my lift, all cheap besides the torque wrench. I dont use them enough to justify spending the money on quality.

That's the truth! Harbor Frieght is nice for weekend warriors like myself. I was able to get a reciprocating chop saw for under $100 at HF! It's not the best quality but it will allow me access to tools which normally would cost several times more, making my renovation project go a lot smoother :)

Exactly..most of my stuff is Craftsman because I'm a weekend guy at best. Not even really doing car stuff anymore, more busy doing stuff on the house. Some years ago a contractor left a bunch of tools at my house and didn't finish a job. Short version is we inventoried the tools to a single screwdriver, found the values, and sued him. Won the right to keep them as an offset and a judgment for the remainder. Not all my stuff is latest and greatest but it doesn't have to be. That said if I used them 40 hours a week it's not just that I can get a new one free, I need that tool to do my work NOW.

I've got mostly Craftsman. A combo of older ones from my grandfather and new ones I get every year for Christmas and my birthday. Granted I'm no pro mechanic, but I do all my own maintenance/repairs and they've yet to fail me. I've broken a few sockets and screwdrivers, walk into Sears and walk out a few minutes later with replacements. Not a bad deal for the average person IMO. If I was a baller i'd get Snap On or Mac. But no such luck:p

I have so many different name brand tools it's not even funny .
If something brakes most likely I have 3 others as back ups .
I have a few things from hf. 20 ton press jack stands . Some cheap air lines for my compressor . Impact sockets .
Lucky for me my tools stay at home . I have a full chest at work to use .

But if I was building engines like Dave or building house like Evan . I'd spend the extra on snap on or makitia drills . Nothing worse then not being able to finish a job because your tool shit the bed .

Looks like I am about the same as everyone else here. Most of my sockets, wrenches, torx are all craftsman, most of my electric hand tools are ryobi. All the other random crap that I only needed once or twice are Harbor Freight or some cheapo from HD

I've got a set of Husky ratchet wrenches from HD that I have beat the crap out of and they still work great. Also, ratchet wrenches ftw, after using one regular box wrenches are ftl.

Beer is def not beer. My beers of choice changed over time, college was busch or natty, post college when I had more than $6 for a 12 pack, it was Miller lite. Now its IPA and stouts.
