Thank you for your service. Your use of the terminology is still inaccurate.

LOL, that would mean thousands of people are getting it wrong. I know tons of people argue about a mag vs. clip but this is the way I was taught. Untill the Army i was never around guns, so Im just going with what I have learned.

Jon, it also kinda depends on how much you want to spend on both the gun and ammo.

You should consider renting some guns and see what you like. If you hate shooting a gun or don't like paying to practice it doesn't matter what you buy because you will suck at shooting.

Yes, thousands of people are wrong. You can either learn the proper use of the words or not, I don't care. It's just a pet peeve of mine since you hear so many people misuse them. I'm just trying to help.

Where can you rent guns? I cant find a single place to do that with out being a member of a range.

I find it funny how an argument can start over such a small thing as what I think vs. others.

It's generally a small piece of metal that older carbines used to feed ammo. It holds the rounds by the end but it's open so carrying several can be a pain in the ass because they can get caught on things and pulled off. That's why box magazines were developed. It's enclosed so it's much easier to carry several and much more sturdy for battle situations. Most firearms these days use mags. The picture posted above illustrates my point.

Happens to everyone. Truth be told that sort of terminology isn't necessary to complete the missions you were on.

Out of curiosity, you said you saw 9mm fail but where did you see 40cal succeed? That's a non-NATO round so I'm assuming you didn't, you just heard. Most likely whoever was using 9mm to stop a threat wasn't fortunate enough to hit anything vital & if that's the case .40S&W wouldn't have done much better, nor would .45ACP for that matter. Shot placement is critical which is one reason I prefer 9mm for the required use as stated above.

Similar reasons that Stoner developed the M16/M4/AR15 platform around the 5.56 round when the previous world beater (AK47) was using a larger 7.62 round. It was determined that when on the battlefield a soldier could carry more rounds with the same or even less weight & mass... More chances to hit something vital in a battle situation.

I have read about Stoner, he did make the 5.56 due to weight but not so you would have more "chances", but so you could kill more people. He fully belived in one shot one kill. I have seen first hand, while helping recover a LMTV, someone get shot by a full 9mm mag center mas and keep coming, it took 2 more people shooting with M4s to take him down. I know there is alot of variables in there, I have heard of them being on drugs, but this is my 1st hand experiance. As for why I prefer .40 over 9mm, even with proper placement wich is hard when the adrenilin kicks in, 9mm tends to go through a person and doesnt nock back very often, .40 and .45 have nock back power compaired to the 9mm.
I have only seen the balistic tests I havent done any myself yet, but from just the data and video I have seen I will take the .40 over the 9mm every time.
I still want the FN 5.7 pistol though and If i can get one of those I will carry that instead.

Unless its a Home Rule county. Then they can make laws as they see fit, within the confines of the state and federal constitutions. So your individual county (county sheriff issues concealed weapons permits, some may know this, some may not) may require that you inform a police officer if you are carrying a gun, whereas the state may not require that.

Best to take a concealed carry class and get to know the laws during that class.

Great, now there is a 9mm vs 40 vs 45 debate in the BS thread.

Forget the pussy shit and go with 357 Sig, or 10mm, you'll win every time.
