    Yeah we have one that runs off our tractor hydraulics as well. It's a beast, but the wedge has been welded on so many times that it looks like a POS.

    I am envious of the firewood people have access to. All we have here is spruce, balsam fir and maybe some birch if you don't mind driving for it.

    I grew up with fires during the winter time and I loved it. Many fond memories sitting in the living room with the fire going on a cold night. When we get a house I want it to have a wood burning stove or at the very least a fireplace.

    Here is the saw mill that my old man just finished building last weekend. You can also see the PTO powered splitter as well. It attaches to the 3-point. Designed to raise and lower to save your back when splitting oversized rounds.

    Thats pretty cool. He may wanna flip the chain and reverse the motor so it throws the chips away from the controls/hydraulics on the sawmill.

    My friend's Dad has an old ( circa 1920's ) PTO driven sawmill at their farm that runs a 4' circular saw blade and takes a 1/2" kerf , I used to help them mill up lumber on it

    I'll take some pics and video next time they fire it up

    We used the insert for the first time last month (nights got to 35 degrees outside). It's a Lopi insert with a fan underneath. It works pretty well but the wood I have isn't very good. I have some Coral Tree limbs and some large Melaleuca limbs that were left over when my trees were trimmed back. The Melaleuca limb was about 12" in diameter. The coral tree burns really fast (fast growing, light wood) plus it's still a little green. I also burned some 3/4" plywood scraps and some old moulding that I had laying around after some of my projects.

    Cut a little bit of red oak today on a friend's land. This stuff had been down a year but was still very heavy. Split easily with a maul. Got a little carried away with the load size.

    Just an AAL. I don't typically do a lot of hauling with the Taco. This load was sitting on the rubber bumpers.
