TacoMan1911, What website did you buy the parts from? I am only finding for about $189. Of course, I am looking for the setup for a manual transmission.

thehtizzle@gmail.com - I have the parts -unused - will sell for $100. I think i got them from toyotapartscheap, but would have to go back and check my records if you wanted to know for sure.

Bought them first, then realized I needed the wiring harnesses as well (for a '10) and wasn't able to buy just the harnesses (had to buy the whole kit) I have the clutch switch, cruise control wire, and the stalk.

Then he would just need the steering wheel cover with the hole in it that goes around the stalk where it goes into the side of the wheel.

Bought them from toyotapartszone. The shipping took forever though. But once I got it, I was happy.

    Hey Folks,

I just finished installing an OEM Cruise Control on my 2010 Regular Cab, 4 cylinder, 5 speed manual transmission that had no prewiring.

All went well except for a mishap with installing the clutch switch... The wiring attached to the top of the clutch switch is rather bulky. As such, and given the tight space around where the switch is installed, the wiring becomes all balled up as you turn the switch to screw it in place.

After screwing the switch all the way in, I noticed that the wires were twisted tightly together at the top of the switch. So, I began to un-twist them to gain adequate length to attach them at the proper locations. To my dismay, both wires broke off from the switch terminals at the top of the switch.

Thankfully, I was able to solder them securely back on to the switch. However, I used some new longer pieces of wire without a connector since the supplied connector isn't really necessary (See photo).

Here is a tip for anyone else installing the clutch switch:

In order to prevent this from happening again I folded the wires part way down the sides of the switch housing and secured them with electrical tape to provide strain relief if the wires became stressed by turning the switch to screw it in (See photo). In addition, if you haven't broken the wires from the switch terminals use a razor blade to remove the rubber shroud covering the wires and then tightly coil the wires and tape them flat together at the top of the switch (See photo). This provides a much smaller bulk for the wires and allows screwing in the switch without stressing the wires or wire terminals of the switch. (Use only one wrap of tape to flatten the wire coil. Otherwise, getting it off again will become difficult, given the limited space around the switch for your hands.)

Use this tip and save yourself some grief...

In Addition, since I just recently completed the OEM Cruise Control mod, if any of you folks have any questions about the installation procedure, just ask!

Okay, I've hit a bit of a snag. I have an 08' manual transmission, not prewired. I bought the cc switch and clutch switch from a guy here on TW and I had some spare connectors to use in the wire the connectors.

I am following these instruction (http://www.thecruisecontrolstore.com/2009tacoma.pdf) and am hitting a snag on page 7 where it talks about the t-tap. I can't figure out this is for. Do I tap into the LT green wire in pin 14 and attach that to pin 21 on connector E7?

Everything else seems to be going smooth except I broke one of those little connectors and now I'm out. Where do I get more? I'm assuming these are standard connectors.

Any help is appreciated, my dash is completely apart and I would like to solve this before putting it back together.

2005 - 2008 models do not use the wire tap that is referred to on page 7 of the Rostra install instuctions. Rather, they utilize an existing Toyota connector (white) located up under the dash near the clutch pedal.

This thread has a bunch of useful info as well as pics for the install: http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/61-2nd-generation-2005/171992-diy-oem-cruise-control.html

Since I recently installed cruise control on my 2010 regular cab that was not pre-wired, feel free to ask any other questions you may have. I'll be happy to help.:)

 That's the other thread I was following to install this. If you look at figure 35 of the Rostra install, I don't have pins in 18, 21, or 31. I installed pin 31, then I ran out of pins, I'm waiting for parts. I don't have a wire in pin 21 (clutch switch), I'm assuming I need one here. But were does the other end go?
