Chris, what's your impression of your light so far? (quality, functionality, value, etc.)

Yes, I just can't remember the exact numerical code of the material. It is amazing stuff. Also, it comes off pretty clean when and if you ever need to remove it.

We spent weeks researching exactly which material to use. No skimping here. ;)

I got stuck one time during the research trying to remove the foam-cored tape - ugh, what a freaking nightmare to remove. NO FOAM tape for us.

I will be ordering soon. One question I didn't see answered on the site, granted I didn't look to hard, is how do you switch between the ambient and second colors? Also, is the Amber color meant to mimic the dash lighting colors on my 09?

To stay more on topic: Personally I'm not interested in any flashy cases. I prefer they never get noticed.

    Thanks!

Luke, The primary/secondary colors are selected via the 3-position switch on the left side of the front face. The 3rd position (LEFT) is OFF.

The color choices are completely up to you. We do offer the Amber LEDs which match the 2005-2011 models really well. Statistically, our popular color schemes are [A][W][A]followed closely by [W]. You can do ANY color scheme you want. We have done completely custom units with pink LEDs for the ladies. Just ask. We make every effort to satisfy our customers' requests.

We generally feel that blending in is the way to go but knowing some people like to be different, we want to at least entertain the idea.

Great to hear. The black cases are expected to arrive Tuesday/Wednesday - FYI.

If ordering a custom unit, please be sure to include a complete color scheme in the comments section like this for example: [W][R]-[Black] V1 ;)

From this very thread. I opened it up because I had never heard of FlyzeEye designs and then clicked on link in your sig. Looked like a great idea and a good product based on a search of TW and members reviews of your product so I figured I'd pony up $60

In my opinion, the price I paid for the V2 is less than what I would expect after seeing how well it is designed and constructed. The housing itself completely blends in with the interior of my truck and no one that rides in my truck even notices that the unit is aftermarket unless i mention it (which i do to show it off, lol). I have the amber lights as my first selection which are a perfect match for the stock gauge lights and they do a great job of lighting up the area under the ac controls and aren't overly bright to distract anyone riding in or driving the truck. White LEDs were my second choice and whenever I need a little more light they are perfect. It's amazing how useful the unit is. You guys have an awesome product and it is definitely one of my favorite mods on my truck! Highly recommended to light lovers :)

    True didn't think about that.

Side note: does anyone know the color of wire to splice into for the 2013? Saw a picture for a '12 someone posted of splicing into the pink wire on the climate control harness, is that correct? If not I will just test for a 12v source in there. Also anyone know how to remove the climate control panel on a 2013? Do you just pry at the corners?

Green & Green with a White stripe for direct connection to the dimmer circuit. We are discussing alternative connections but have made no firm determinations as of yet.

The HVAC control panel can be removed easily by using a clean putty knife on the lower edge to get things started.

On the battery only version, do you have to remove the unit to replace the batteries?

Any estimate on the battery life?

No, you do not have to 'remove' the unit - you simply dismount it from the mounting plate (the unit is held in place with 10 Neo-Dymium Rare-Earth magnets).

Battery life is variable - it all depends on how many times you forget to turn it off. We did bench tests running a [W] V1 at full bright for 24-hours a day - it lasted over three weeks.
