    Great write up! I think I will do this! Question though... Actually two, and bear with me because I'm electrically challenged.

    The 12 fuse block is $10 bucks more, so I figure might as go with it so I have more options. (I won't run everything at once of course though!!! Just to have options)
    Now, should I still get the 100A circuit breaker, or something larger?
    And I have a Siren/PA with a 100w speaker up front.. Is that going to be too much to run through the fuse block?

    If I remember correctly the Blue Seas 12 maximum is 140A so you will need to find a circuit breaker that is smaller then this. I think I still run a 100A.

    Yes you can run the 100W Siren/PA. I would use a relay, 14 gauge wire, and a 10 amp fuse.

    I just looked up and a guy arranged a gb on a mount but they're all out now.... guess we'll have to make our own!

    So take all of the devices that you plan on running through the fuse block and add up their total load (amps). With all things running what is the total amperage? If you aren't sure use Watts = Amps x Volts or Amps = Watts / Volts. For this situation we are using 12 volts. 100A should cover you but just be sure.

    I wouldn't run a relay on the speaker, but that is MHO. Any thing 10A or less I typically run a fuse. On fog lights, HIDs, winch and larger loads I would use a relay. I have been trying to develop a waterproof relay panel for some time now, it just isn't easy. I found a company that sells an 8 slot relay board, but waterproofing doesn't appear to be easy. That plus the Daystar switch bank to mount in the upper sunglass spot is a daunting task. Too many other chores to complete around the house.

    Ya I don't think I'll run the relay.. I havent been running one now and everything has been fine. Thanks for the advice though!
    And ya. Honestly at this point I'll be running some bed lights, a cb, and the siren off the fuse block, but I highly doubt ever all at once.
    3/12 slots full, but hopefully later down the road I'll be getting some offroad lighting, auxiliary back up lighting, and probably some general shenanigan stuff requiring some type of power.
















    Besides, empty slots in the fuse blocks means I have to get more toys :D

    Would a 80 breaker be enough for a one of the fuse panels. I only ask cause I have an 80 amp breaker laying around, but do not want to find out the hard way that is is not enough. I do have the 12 fuse panel, but don't think I will use all the spots. I am mainly gonna use it for bed lights and some LED lights.

    Here is my question...I have a aux fuse panel from Painless Wiring(3 hot and 4 ignition switched), I would like to install it inside the cab in my rear seat platform next to my subwoofer. I would install the circuit breaker like you next to my battery, but what gauge wire would I need to run it to the cab? Fuse box has a 40 amp relay and 50 amp circuit breaker.

    Run 4 or 6 AWG size, but if the connectors can hold bigger wire, use as big as you can fit. Always assume the circuit will running at full capacity and assume a fuse will fail. Put that breaker right next to the battery! NOT all the way back on your fuse block-
    Say you get t- boned and that hot wire gets pinched and grounds out before the breaker. You've now got a wire fire while you're trapped inside.

    More likely accident is that wire rubs the coating off inside the firewall penetration and shorts before the breaker- bye bye truck.

    Run the same gauge lead direct from positive and negative on the battery, not one positive lead and the negative to the frame.

    [​IMG]lol...... if I were to install 3000 watt inverter back where I am now going to install my aux fuse box, what gauge wire and breaker will I need for that? added the picture so you can see where I'm putting this stuff, right now only my sub woofer is in there along with the jack.
