hey guys, i just had a remote start hooked up to my truck today, and with it is the option to have the trunk release. being that i have a truck there is no trunk to pop open, soi had the guy leave me the aux wire hanging long, and taped off the end. he also installed a 40 amp relay to it so i could use it for pretty much anything.

i now have to decide what i should use it for if anything at all.

the only think is i'm pretty sure it will only be powered on while i am holding the button.

any cool ideas? i was thinking oill slick, or smoke screen.... haha

I'd like to do this so much. There's a write up somewhere about installing a lock inside the tailgate; I was looking at it the other week. Only I would just going to wire it to the passenger door unlock circuit; that way a simple double-tab of the key fob would unlock it, and every time I locked the truck would ensure that the tailgate was locked too.

Are you sure the output isn't just a momentary thing no matter how long you hold the button? Just because you hold the button down doesn't mean it's going to keep triggering the output.
