What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

you are not allowed to do that with a SB Tacoma...

everyone knows you need a LB to haul anything more than groceries.

 

1600 + lbs of drywall ?

I would have gotten it delivered

 

i would have taken a 7’x12’ trailer and saved the $60+

would have got a bunch of 2x4’s as well. and enough screws and nails to build a house.

 

does the girl come with the tool?

 

Removed my pro comp 3" lift and installed the OME 2.5" lift with the .5" toytec spacer with Dakar leafs.

Install all the way around was not very difficult. The hardest thing which pissed me off was getting the bottom of the rear shocks into the lower shock mount. Oh and the dakars are hella heavy! Rides great

The only issue I have is that my upper control arms are rubbing the coils on mid to full droop. Not sure why since the pro comp 3" springs did not.

Any ideas why the rubbing on this lift and not pro comp lift? Need new UCA possibly?

I have the same set up , no rub on my LR UCA's

 

thats a cool tool(they have a show for cool tools as well. thinks it’s on DIY NET) dad has an older style one. you have to set the ply wood or dry wall on it and it is “under” instead of over it like that style it. you can keep your hand down by your side kinda like if you were just walking.

OZ. so you have the .5" spacer also? Did you change your UCAs the same time you did the lift? If not did factory UCAs rub?

doubt that thing would work very well on drywall...especially 12 foot board.

and even w/ plywood...it may be convientent to move a sheet or 2...but for slinging dozens of sheets up to a roof...or even for walls...PITA.

Oh , sorry , no I don't have a top plate spacer

I read that the first time as the 5mm ( OME trim packer ) spacer

I did install the LR's at the same time as the lift

 

Sorry OZ. one more question...do you sit level with the Dakars and the front 885s without the spacer?

 

No , I got 2 1/2" front with the 885's , no top plate spacers , and 2 1/2" from the Dakars so I essentially retained factory rake

 

i got a chance to drive it after a nine month deployment to Afghanistan.
