I have been searching for about 2 months now and the car Im driving in the mean time is getting worse and worse so I kinda need to make my decision soon...

I have found 3 silver 4x4 Dbl Cab Tacomas and I cant figure out which is the one for me:

    1) 2005 a trd sport long bed with 36k with a 3" lift on on it for $18.5k

    2) 2005 a trd off-road with 69.5k on it for $17.5k

    3) 2006 a trd sport short bed with a 3" lift and 72k on it and $17.5k

They all sound pretty good and I think the best looking one is #3 but the mileage has me a little worried although all of them are single owner trucks so that makes me feel a little better.
#1 seems like the best deal but the long box has me a little worried cause thats not what I had in mind but its a great looking truck

I kinda always wanted white but silver is a very close second and I think I want a short box just so its easier to drive/park esp. in the garage but everyone with the longbox seems to be happy they went with that.

I have test driven 7 different tacomas now both short and long bed so I have a rough idea of what Im getting into with all of them. I'm pretty sure no matter which one I choose I will be happy but I would just like to have a little input from the people who already own and love these trucks

*Edited- #3 is an 06 not an 05

Im curious why more people so far seem to like the 4x4 off-road? Is it because it doesnt have the lift so you are assuming it was treated better or do you just think its a better overall truck than the sport model?

I have a 06' DC SB Sports edition and I love it! I don't do much off-roading so thats why I went with the sports model. Plus I liked the other features that came with the truck that the off-road didn't have. Went with the SB because I don't haul around to much stuff. I pretty much only use it for camping and fishing gear. Once in a while for when I go into town and buy something large. Other then that, my tonnoue cover is always on it.;)

Thats similar to me... I work for a construction company so if I really need to haul something I can just take a work truck but I do like camping and snowboarding so I kinda need the 4x4 but I doubt the locking diff.... Also I love how your truck looks.

I'm completed biased because I own a DC LB. I love it, and wouldn't trade it for a short box. I've hauled some stuff already that wouldn't fit in a short box. My $0.02

Thats ok I just want as much input as I can get because I usually keep cars for about 5 years so I wanna make sure I pick the right one so who better to hear from than the people who already went through the same process

I'd take #1 for Best Bang for the buck. You got the sports look w/4x4. You're golden. The long bed will serve you well. Get them under 18K. You my friend bought a fantastic truck.

The others are high miles imho for the price. Get #1 and don't look back.

You can always change the lift with the money saved!

#2 & #3 have the same amount of miles. Whats 3K going to differ? Get #1 or i'll punch you a few times.

Haha I agree #1 is the best bang for the buck, but I do like the look of the short beds better and $18.5 is the lowest he will go he originally wanted $20k but now has gotten more flexible after it being for sale for a while

Then just wait. Those are high miles. Double miles for 1k more. Money talks and 18K is good! Talk him down and say lets to the deal asap.

Yea, #1 is the best deal, unless you need the rear e-locker. If you're just going to do very light trails and mostly roads.... the sport LSD is fine. For the price and millage, you can't beat it, and if you need to in the future you can get an ARB locker...

Very true the ARB locker is always an option its really just the LB that has me nervous I have always owned sports cars so I know its going to be a huge change to get used to and I have heard parking/maneuvering the LB it tough although when I test drove one it didnt seem too tricky

I'd go with the offroad for the locker. just depends on how much wheelin your gonna be doing etc.

they are all close in price so just pick the one with the right features for you.

I think Im going for #1 the long bed.... The more I think about it I think it just makes the most sense with how low the mileage is and it still fits in my garage with 3' to space haha
