Anyone into R/C?

Gonna be getting another 1/8th scale buggy this time it will be brand new and I will be building it. I cant wait!!!

 

After building my dads mugen for Christmas, im staying away from those, too much $$$

 

haha well im getting the buggy at a sponsored drivers discount price and going budget build on the electronics. 1900kv sensored turnigy trackstar motor and 150a sensored hobbywing esc. already have a servo for it and i get beta tires for about 40 bucks for a full set.

should be in it about 400 by the time im done

 

Well then thats worth it, not being into racing and not having any hook up, keeps me away from a 1/8th buggy. Cant wait to see your build up pictures.

 

oh yeah i definitely understand that lol. i was going to build a nitro buggy but i dont have any hook ups on nitro stuff so I said screw that haha. I'll definitely post some pics when i start the build.

Nice, I am looking to do a tacon motor and a hobbywing esc combo to make my summit brushless, best prices iv seen, i can do it for about $140.

Got my rc18t2 together, thing hauls ass on 3s!

 

are the smaller cars any fun? i wnated to get something to bash around with.

 

Im not too sure but a buddy gave me this rc18 and said it was junk, i got about $30 into it and its pretty much a rtr car again, plus its the brushless edition.

I dont think i would ever buy one new for $200 but after running it yesterday, it seems like a fun car to mess around in the house/garage or smaller indoor tracks. Not sure how fast it is but id say on 2s around 20mph, 3s around 25+mph.

Never seen but it looks like some off brand crawler, parts are probably pooly made and it can be a pain in the ass to find replacement parts for an off brand r/c.

IMO look for a wraith thats been built up already if you like that look, join rccrawler.com and just read up, tons of good info on that site

 

That company builds them, they build a bunch of RC cars, everything on it is machined and then u put whatever servos and electronics u want on it. But I see what ur saying about parts and ability to get them. That is true.

And thanks yeah ill def take a look on there and see what I can learn, the only thing about the wraith is i heard its to top heavy and flips real easy.

 

That can be fixed by dropping the chassis down, changing shock mount locations, weight the wheels/axles, mainly just getting the weight low, its not really expensive to do either.

For the price of the r/c you posted, you can find some badass crawlers that are well known forsale and you would be able to replace anything on it easily. Buying a wraith would be the start, you then mod/tweak it to do what you want it to do, weither its a full crawler, scaler, rock racer/basher. Just my opinion if i had to buy a bone stock wraith or that one you posted, i would take the wraith every time, use the extra $$ and make it more to my liking.

 

I never had a problem like that with my wraith. The cheapest and best mod I did with my wraith was move the battery up front.

Yep, plus i got some other little stuff for the same price most places wanted just for the dx4s.

 

I haven't used them in awhile, (lately just throw stuff on buddies order, and pay him, he uses A-Main) used to be awesome to order from. On most stuff they are cheaper, almost $50.00 on a Tekin T8 system. Let me know about shipping times when it arrives, pics too of course.
