Mine is made in San Antonio; it’s only a few days old but looks great!

I don't think it matter where it was build it’s a Toyota and that's what matter to me! This is my 3rd Japanese vehicle and I’ve always been happy with the manufacturing regardless where it was built I had a Honda Civic built in Canada, a Subaru Impreza built in Japan and now the Tacoma DC built in the US. All good to me!

This poll should of had great, poor & POS.
Mine was built in the USA and four years later they are still fixing things. They do it for free and its not under warranty. I have to make lots of calls and talk about class action lawsuits. I bring up T.W. and other Toyota websites.
The truck runs a looks great it's just a lot of crap to deal with. They give me loner cars so what can I say.
I guess it's the luck of the draw.

Better than a ford, but had more issues with my 09 in 1 year than I had with my 98 which I owned for 7. Which isn't much (overhead compass, blower motor, somehow shifted into reverse when my shifter still said drive resulting in an accident. No damage done but of course could not be replicated at the dealership. I have a video on my old phone of my truck showing drive after the accident and then moving in reverse when my foot let off the brake on flat ground.)

I just took a tour of the Tacoma Plant in San Antonio. I specifically asked if Tacomas were still made in Baja and I was told the following:

Since 2012, all Tacomas are made in San Antonio.....all the "decks/Beds" are still made in Baja and sent to San Antonio. The engine is made in Japan and sent to San Antonio.

So if you have a 2012+ and you open your drivers door, on the door frame there should be a white sticker with all the tire and weight information that says "Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Texas.....made in the USA"

And on a side note, there is 2 separate assembly lines for the Tundra and Tacoma...until the body meets the frame and then the Tacomas and Tundras are all randomly in the same assembly line.

Here is my little write up on my experience:

All Tacomas aren't manufactured in San Antonio, I wonder why they would tell you that. My 2013 OR DC was made in Mexico (de baja california), says it on the white sticker above the tire weight information.

Aside from some minor drive line vibs, build quality seems to be great.

My 2013 is built in Baja California Mexico... I don't think the engines are built in Japan unless I'm wrong I would like to see proof

I don't care where my truck was assembled. People are people, and there are professionals and non-professionals everywhere in the world.

Edit* I lived in Vietnam for a year, and have stopped buying products made there. There is a reason North Face, etc.'s quality has declined since they moved production there - the work force literally does not care.

I am just relaying what was told to me on the tour. But about the engines, we toured the entire plant, and there was no engine assembly area, just a staging area where they were aready built/being removed from crates.

I don't think it really matters where it was assembled. Both locations seem to do a good job. Biggest problem with all cars is the Made in China parts they put in them now days. Just straight junk.

From what i've seen over the years with products made in Mexico the workmanship is questionable to say the least.

^^^What products? I've worked scrap metal recycling in Mexico with companies like GMC, Linamar(make ford truck blocks), John Deere, LG Phillips, Caterpillar, Rassini etc. Not one time did I see quality issues. What I saw was a very clean and professional environment and many overqualified people thankful to have a job.
