What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Thought it might be but wasn't sure.

I thought it may have been a 4-high mod for aftermarket projectors.

Not a fan of the devil horns on the satoshi, shortly putting all 3 Hellas behind the grill and then putting an LED light bar on where the lights are currently.

AND IT'S DONE!!!!!!

 

Cleaned engine bay, removed rear quarter and tailgate badges/decals and washed/waxed her. It's easy to talk yourself into working when it's 75 in January

My 1st oil change since 2 year gimme expired ... rotated tires.

 

Installed new front fab bumper, courtesy of bmiller and i did my satoshi last week.

 

I used Homer's M1 mesh. The spacing on the mesh matches the molded fittings perfectly.

I trimmed the center screw-stud flush with the 4 wings and pushed the end pins through the mesh.
I ran a screw into the center, but had trouble finding a screw the right length (pretty tough when your options are 1/4" or 3/8" and you really need 3/16") so I stacked a couple of washers under the screw head.

The badge can be easily removed if I need to repaint the mesh.

 

Looks great!

 

After grinding off the two "stud" on the back,I just put it in the right spot and smeared some epoxy thru the mesh onto the back side of the emblem.
If I want to ever take it off I just buzz the inside of the grill mesh a little and it will pull right of.

 

I don't trust epoxy or polyester resins on ABS.

 

I did something similar, but I put a zip tie around the studs through the mesh. Them used jb weld on it.

 

I did the fogs anytime mod and they shut off with the truck. I often forget they are even on sometimes because the switch doesn't light up. I am confused.

 

extended the rear diff breather to the full filler door on saturday. no pics because I did it right before going wheeling.. kind of rushed.

Yanked some logs out of the area a logging company cleared. Didn't do too bad! First time I got to use the smittybuilt recovery receiver and it worked great!

Started with this



Milled the upper piece , added a 5/16" stainless through bolt to register the axe handle



Milled the lower piece , it needed to be rabbetted to span over the shelf support remnants



I fixed these pieces through the back of the cubby inserts with #8 x 3/4" screws and fender washers



I put the screws where I could cover them back up with the backing insulation so that they wouldn't rattle against the mounting surfaces



That left me with this



I built a toolbox that would fit the countour of the storage area under the axe
