Sold mine to move forward with some things that had become more important to my life.

Now that I've successfully survived the engagement and homebuying experience, I'm back on the hunt for another Tacoma. This time I'll be going new I think.

I see alot of people talking about under power and bad mpg.

My truck can easily roast 33" mud grapplers and is pretty quick to me. I came from a Silverado SS.

Also I get around 22-24mpg highway and 17 around town.

Only thing I hate about it is the cheap interior and they could have done a better paint job.

Amazing mpg for having 33" tires. I had a Pre-runner dc 6/auto that would not get over 22 mpg hiway bone stock. You said you can smoke 33 's, is your truck stock?

I get 40 MPG in town with tractor tires and just change my tires to 35" MT's when I go on the highway, so I can get about 55MPG there.

IDK how y'all are getting that good of mileage, I am lucky to pull 16mpg and mine is dead stock on 245s!

IDK what it is but, every surface of my Tacoma seems to scratch easily, inside and out, it's really starting to annoy me! I can overlook it though, it's a truck, it's bound to get scratched.

My other problem is, I hate having a 4x4 switch instead of a lever.

Lastly, but my biggest problem with the truck- why no V-6/6speed combo for the regular cab 4x4???? I ordered an access cab because it was the next closest thing but, it's not near enough the same. I really wanted a reg cab/V-6/6speed/4x4, why can't Toyota make this? It's not like they don't have the parts! I'd be VERY VERY happy with that setup! Oh well....

Imagine though: Reg Cab, V-6, 6 speed manual, 4x4, TRD Baja package, with a lever for the 4wd instead of a dial (the FJ Cruiser t-case). That'd be one SICK truck! That would make me not have a dang thing to complain about! (other than the material softness but, I'd likely never notice that as I'd be too busy having a blast driving the funnest truck Toyota ever made!!!)

I like mine a lot... I've had it for two years and put 50kms on it. The front wheel bearing puked out but that's been it. I thought the stock suspension was very soft and mushy, but a procomp 3" kit was a huge improvement. My truck doesn't sink to station wagon heights when loaded down for camping now. Fuel economy is so so, it's kinda noisy to drive( my car is a 3 series BMW) is Way more refined. The engine kinda feels like it labours hard to rev,but it does give me a feeling of reliability...some that my car NEVER gave and that's priceless.8.6/10 for me... Couldn't be happier. Easily the sexiest rigs out there IMO.

    Currently in the market.
I'll be in the market for an 08/09ish Pre-runner/single cab/short bed in the next few months. I like that look and hopefully a bit of fuel economy. Hopefully those particuliar trucks are'nt full of issues.

Considering this site is for tacoma enthusiasts Im gonna assume most people here like their Tacoma's. Ive owned a 91 PU and a 03 taco, loved em both.

MPG isnt the best but if thats your main concern dont buy a truck!

it's a pretty damn nice truck. I just wish it came with a rear disc brakes instead of drums.
