Every working dog needs a job. Sometimes I toss the ball for Riley (in the house). He's happy to retrieve it. But if I tell him to get on his bed, toss the ball; then release him, it's even better. Add a search and he's like a pig in shit.

    It's stimulating and enjoyable work.

Hey dog people. I have a question for you guys. My neighbors are trying to figure out if they were lied to. They previously owned a full breed english mastiff, when that one passed they got their current pup, this one is now 1.5 years old, less than 100 lbs, and was sold to them as another english mastiff, but doesnt look anything like their old one. What breed do you guys think this pup could be? I know what a full breed mastiff typically looks like, so what do you guys think? They are planning on having her breed tested, but figured i would ask here as well. Thanks ahead of time.

Looks kinda mastiff. But about half the size. Facial markings aren't quite right either.

With his ears and head I see some Lab in him but then again the different strains could make him a Mastiff. I.E. an english boxer looks way different than a German Bred Boxer...Hope this helps...

Here's My newest guy, Rocko. We had to put our 2 year old Lab-Husky-Shepherd mix Hudson down in October...Bad hip dysplasia and tore his second ACL in 3 months...Couldn't let him suffer any more.
Anyway, Rocko's 5 months old and if anyone can guess his mix I'll give them a million dollars! It's pretty obscure and you'll ask yourself...How'd that happen?

That is one heck of a mix.

I'm not much of a dog person anymore due to my allergies, but when i was younger i had a "Shepard/lab/pit" mix. He was awesome, my best friend called him a Shlapit. The best way to describe him, he had the heart of a lab, the looks of the shepard, but the size of the pit. Makes me miss him just typing this.

This is a great thread for you dog guys and thanks again for all the help with my question.

I'm allergic to dogs but I still have two of them. There is a reason they are called "man's best friend"
