    I have had luck in the past using a mild acid on stickers. Can you get a hold of any hydrochloric acid? That should do the trick; just don't breathe the fumes too much.

    That's the problem. I'm trying to get this thing clean, and nothing is working. No one has good advice. I thought this was the premiere site for toyota people.

    How about using a cutter to remove the cable, until you can repair it the proper way!

    Nah at this point he's going to need a military grade flamethrower to get the most direct heat on there he can. Then get a nice snow shovel and scrape that thing right off.
