I get paid pretty well and don't pay 10K in fed taxes.
More you make, more you pay. I wish I had to pay 20K a year in taxes. Means I'd make twice as much as I do now.

To the OP's question. My wife will find something to buy that has nothing to do with my truck.:D

Been debating paying off the Taco (less than a year on the loan), savings, or investments. Although I'd really like to throw a lift, front bumper, and winch on the truck.

Over $13k withheld, not including my wife's withholding, hope to get something back. It is all going to our new house, hope to close in April/May this year. Some may go to paying off my truck, only owe $5500, plan to pay it off in 6 months, and just have a house bill.

Will likely owe the state of MD something, even though I let them withhold at the max amount, some how every year I either owe $10 or get $100 back...

ALready got my software, and started my refund, just waiting on the latest update, and all of my tax statements. Going to get it done early this year.

Best I ever did with breaking even was with a NJ tax return, owed them $0.05, had to send them a check for it, and paid more in postage because they wouldn't let me file online...

Hmm... Yeah. I was hoping someone on here would talk about how to set up your W4, or at least mention that you SHOULD set up your w4 differently. You know.

I know that every $0.01 counts, but at current interest rates if you were getting a $2500 refund, you missed out on ~$11 of interest (assuming 0.95%, $210 put away each month for 12 months). Yes it is something, but if you owed the govt money at the end of the year because you didn't withhold enough, then most people would either not have enough in savings (if any) to pay the amount owed and get fined and pay interest, or would be upset that they had to pay anything. We all make choices, withholding more isn't as bad as a lot of the other choices people make these days.

Even at a 5% interest rate you are only missing out on $58, and we haven't seen those rates in a decade...
