Thats how I do all my stuff. Any connection that is subject to weather and not sealed inside the cab is always shrinked. Just habit I guess. I have to have things look clean too. I cant stand loose wires or things that stand out. Plus, without the shrink wrap, water would eventually get inside the ring terminal on the exposed copper and rot it out, which wont stop the ground connection, but will drastically reduce current flow and hinder function of the antenna. Gotta do things right the first time. The other end is also shrink wrapped even though it is covered under the bedside trim.

Yeah I'm going to make it shorter. It's to tall. Me and my dad made it. I did everything but the welding. He did that...

I'm sure I could. That's what I was thinking of doing. But I wasn't sure if that would look weird?

 

i seen it done on bigger trucks. It might create alot of drag, Plus it might be pain to bring that tire down from the roof. But it would get it out of the way.

Plus on trails you might run into low bridges.

I guess somethings to think about .

the Antenna was 39.95

From Gigapart, That was the cheap place i could find that radio for.
