Nah, took it to my friends' shop and had them do it.

It was going to be somewhat of a PITA doing it myself with my 6 year old daughter helping  so I took it to the shop. This way, throwing them a bone every once in a while also allows me to use their shop after hours to do jobs with their tools and assistance.

Total cost parts/labor wss $125 so it's not too damaging to the bank account.

Take it off the truck, dry it out, reseal all edges and check for rust on the electronics.

I did the same thing to my corner lights that I converted to turn signals.

    Works like a charm.

My dealer quoted me $616 to replace both lower ball joints and $386 for a complete tranny flush and refil with new filter. Does this sound reasonable? I've never paid for service like that before.

    HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!

Buy some Moog Lower ball joints and have a mechanic replace them.

And I doubt you need a flush.. just drain and refill...

    Hit up rockauto.com also.

Yea that really does sound high. Rockauto.com is the place to go to good replacement parts. Don't do a tranny flush if the trucks got over 150k on it. Just drain it and replace the filter and refill it.

I thought that was a little steep...the original LBJs were replaced at 30k miles I believe for the original recall. I'm at 69,xxx miles now.

Thats it? I have put 60k miles on my truck in 3 years..

    Did they rust away?

Mine didnt even need to be replaced but I figured it was free so why not.

I had mine done at 140k miles or so.

I don't even know if they're bad. I have quite a bit of play in my tire from top to bottom. That's what I'm going off of. I looked at them but nothing seemed rusted out or out of place. The truck wanders all over the place at highway speeds as well.

I tried that once.. Left it in the oven too long and warped the lense  I'll try some more silicone i guess and see if that does the trick..
