Fuck zinc. Its not bad just welding zinc, if you have a respirator, but fuck zinc in alloys. I hardly mug weeks so mine stays relatively clean.

I hate it, but if thats the job of the day dont have a choice and we seem to do alot of it, also have to have good ventilation in the shop.

You should wear a respirator welding that stuff. Regardless of whether you have good ventilation or not. That stuff is nasty.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Take some 3M rubbing compound to that screen and it will bring it back to life. We were changing ours all the time and it added up. One day I ran out and decided to hit it with my little air buffer and they are just about good as new. I can keep one for at least 3 to 5 months welding everyday now just cleaning it every few days.

Welded these myself, second project with my mig welder, first was the cart for my welder. These bad boys are all painted professionally now and look sick on the truck.

Yeah i really cant stand when mine is dirty so i changed it out all the time. I haven't changing mine in months and it looks like this after cleaning by hand if i use the buffer it's even better.

You like that digital elite? My optrel e680 was acting up a bit so I bought one of those millers after reading a lot of reviews from guys loving it. Really dont care for it that much after using it a few hours.
Too bulky IMO, and the bright yellow-green shading is throwing me off and giving me a headache. Kind of bummed after spending $300+ tax for it, but a new one of my optrel e680's is now over $400  and seems to be special order everywhere around town
Got the optrel working better again now, so trying to decide if I should keep the miller or sell it.

Yeah I've got a fixed 3/10 auto darkening my employee uses. Her prefers it over my optrel, the Miller elite and a Tweco i have as well.
I personally like it last of my 4 helmets sl so if he likes it I'm happy.
I was thinking of a 9100x or 9100xx instead of the Miller but my lws didn't carry speedglas and I wanted to see it in person before buying
