Just curious why all the negative comments, it's his investment, he's just sharing.
Why are so many quick to judge?

Looks good and do you have any pics of the 3x3's and the output? I was planning on getting some through Gaterrose's group buy already, but I was hoping to see output shots before.

Yeah. haha. I see why you would point out the possibility of it being easily damaged, but there are more types that just offroaders on here. If everyone only used their trucks to offroad, x-runners and pre-runners wouldn't exist.

On a side note, I like the way it looks. Should light the road up well if aimed right, but I would work on some sort of a rock chip guard.

Also that bumper is pretty flimsy and won't protect the light much if at all in the event of hitting an animal or something and I doubt your insurance will cover the light. They are pretty finicky about aftermarket parts unless you have added that coverage onto your policy.

Agreed, my comment was not a general sweeping statement about Pre-runners, just the OP.

My comment and picture were not negative, I was showing a potential downfall of the mounting location if the OP were to drive terrain similar to what I do. It is apparent that his truck won't see Moab.

Obviously I am an idiot for taking my truck off road.

Nobody is an Idiot, the op felt attacked so his neg response was to defend himself.

Some make choices not to off road due to costs and it being a daily driver as well, others love to go off road, to each his own. This is a great forum and has a lot of great info, sometimes we have to weed through a lot to find an answer.

What works for 1 person may not work for another, we shouldn't judge that, nothing is gained.

I'm not trying too stir the pot either, I like the ops light, I may not agree with his location but its not my problem. I like that he went for it and shared, there's a lot of information in a picture, as in a picture is worth a thousand words.

We are all in this together, as we all have Toyotas in some form

My mall crawler has seen off road, does go off road and can off road. If I wanted a rock crawler Or Moab vehicle I wouldn't have traded my 09 wrangler 4 door in on a 2wd tacoma. Yes its a lifted pre-runner which suits me just fine in this crazy off-road land in East Tx. Truck has done what I wanted for me here as well is Colorado summers. If I wanted to hit a rock with a new truck or go and get some cool tree pinstripe I wouldn't have bought a new vehicle. If lived where you guys did I wouldn't have bought a 2wd or had light mounded there. Funny thing is, it's not much lower than a stock truck with Avid or nfab light bat and don't see you hating on those guys. But after all that I am sorry that you don't approve of me paying for my mall crawler, taking care of my mall crawler, and being able to drive my mall crawler off road with out tearing my daily driver mall crawler up. Thanks for comment.

    Obviously it wasn't capable... :poking:

As someone who lives in Arizona, all the hate in this thread is ridiculous. Around here, all the most capable trucks are 2wd.

Hmm... another ignoramous who thinks trucks are made specifically for off roading...

Look, the point of my original post was to show that where the light was mounted can be susceptible to damage, that's it. The OP then called me an idiot for taking my truck off road in a situation where had the light been mounted there it would have been damaged. End of story.

I hope you are being sarcastic.

 So much butt hurt in here... OP, I see the susceptibility to damage in your mounting location, but I would be kidding myself if I think that mine is any more protected. I like the ingenuity to place it where no one has before. However, I have learned first hand that even spot style LED bars put out a good amount of flood light so the higher the mounting position generally the better.

And to those bashing him on his driving habits: No one gives a shit what you do with your vehicle and not everyone wants to find out the ultimate limits of what their daily driver can do. You're wasting your breath trying to convince someone that your way is the right way... Hell, if he smashes it on something or road debris gets kicked up into it then you can mark it down as +1 for you trying to win the internets.
