Also throw in the fact that murder rates are dropping, along with violent crime. And for all the talk on the issue, you'd think it'd be a bigger deal. HIV kills more people, but that seems to be ok.

Don't give me the "2nd Amendment" argument. You still have arms, just not whatever your heart desires. You really feel we need to arm against are own government? When it was written there were no police, no national guard, No anything but citizens. things were wide open. You think we need militia's now? wow.

Think about the vehicle deaths that occure daily yet we continue to produce vehicle that can easily double the speed limit. Why dont we make all vehicle only powerful enough to do 35 mph? Would that not reduce traffic related deaths? Why do we continue to produce "food" that makes us fat and afflicts us with disease? How many lives could we save by eliminating processed food and sugary drinks?

There are so many more "issues" out there, things that do have viable solutions that kill millions more than all gun related crime has in the last 100 years. Yet we focus on a rifle because thats the latest and greatest "issue"

The national guard is the militia (kinda). And yes, I want to be armed in case I need it. I don't think it will be a government tyrant or anything. I could see a collapse of the dollar, or our entire economy. That would cause some serious problems and I may actually need something. Also, in many areas the police take forever to respond to remote places people live.

There are really only a set number of talking points on the issue. It is what it is so anytime you enter into a discussion on firearms its going to be groundhog day each and every time.

But being Canadian how would you feel if the government decided Maple Syrup makes you too fat and they banned all Maple Syrup, you would be pretty darn angry!:D

Don't all of you New Yorkers have 1 year to sell your "illegal contraband" out of state? Why not see if this law holds up in court first. The Judicial branch is the other check and balance side of our system. I would think this law would be under scrutiny by the state's Supreme court soon enough. Just see how it goes and Good luck.

Right so you don't eat maple syrup so you dont care if they ban maple syrup its not important to you but what about the millions of maple syrup consumers who love it? Do they not have a right to have the maple syrup they have enjoyed for generations?

Millions of people eat maple syrup and dont get fat but the government is going to ban maple syrup because some do.

Its the same with guns millions of people own firearms and never murder anyone. The percentage of people who murder people with guns is so small its hardly worth anyones time to talk about.

Well shit, now New York is going to have California beat with 7 rounds. California will never allow that to continue. I foresee us being down to 5 or 6 rounds very soon. Always leading the charge.... into the tank

I can't think of a semi auto handgun that holds less than 8 rounds. Better buy a revolver instead. Something like a S&W 686 7-shot. Might be better for the bad guys since revolvers don't spit out traceable casings.

Mod list... Well, my paint is factory.
The Second Amendment is mean for THE PEOPLE to be armed and able to defend against a tyrannical government. what is so hard to understand about that? It doesn't place limits on the types of arms because there were not supposed to be limits.
There is no hunting or sporting clause. The militia argument is wrong because it is a separate part of the amendment.
New York has succeeded in making law abiding citizens less safe. Great job...

If anyone hasn't already seen penn and tellers bullshit episode on gun control, now would be a great time.
It's on YouTube, and other sites I'm sure.
