Yeah I was recovering from last night..worked for about 3-4 hours on the spring season's schedule, and played a scrimmage match with another team. Finished the sched tonight right after work and sat in front of the TV for Shipping Wars and Barter Kings.

What am I missing here, what has Deval proposed that affects vehicle registration??

Last I hear it was an income tax hike to cover the losses from the crap-ass T system. Personally, I think the MBTA is a failed project. It's nice for people who live immediately around Boston but overall it is one of the worst public transportation systems I've ever experienced. The routes were very poorly planned. The idea of having to go into the city to go back out to get to a place that's the next town over is ridiculous. It's an inefficient system. They ought to raise the rates on the T rather than have the entire state pay for a system that benefits an isolated region of the state. /rant

I lived in Hanson when I was taking the T to work in Quincy. It cost me $6-$7 each way..had to take the commuter rail to Braintree and change to the Red for 3-4 stops. If I were parking my car that's another 7-8 bucks. Total cost is $20 a day. This was 10 years ago. Doesn't make sense versus the cost to drive 40 miles a day in my car.

In theory you're right but in reality this state doesn't believe in pay for what you use, never really does.

When I lived in Quincy, the T was awesome. I got on at Wollaston and work was at at South Station, couldn't be easier. Then I moved to Norwood and work moved to Cambridge. The commuter rail stopped at my apartment complex so no parking fees but everything still cost me close to what I would have been paying if I drove in myself and it took longer. Now, I drive into work and will never go back to the T. It's cheaper and more convenient to drive where I need to go.

The T needs a revamp which will never happen because the city is too built up to handle it and they couldn't afford it. NYC's metro is a great example of what the T should have been. It runs 24 hours a day, service gets cut down at night to save money, and it runs in loops, not just in and out of the city. And honestly, you want to cut down on drunk driving yet they shut the T down hours before the bars close, fucking brilliant. The service is also not very well planned. How many times have you riden the T and there were 3 people in the whole car? That should start to tell someone that they're running too often, cut the service on off peak hours, should be a no brainer. This transportation thing pisses me off, Deval is bitching because the MBTA is so far over budget and his only solution is give them more money. Don't fix the problem... just throw more money at a failing system

Sorry, maybe I wasn't done with my rant

Your not missing anything. It's the income tax he wants to raise. I didn't hear anything about vehicle registrations. Yet.

The other thing is, to take the T added about 90 minutes to my day all in all. At that time I had not another option having had my license pulled. However, that's the only time I'd do it then and now it's not even an option.

Not only the trains, but scale back on the buses as well maybe. My dad is a driver for the T and they do run buses all hours, he hasn't been there long so he gets a lot of odd hours.

That and when you're paying for all the retirees in a few years plus replacing them, let's see how much the T costs then..

Alright, I was thinking I missed something because Dave was talking about his registration. He must have been talking about changing his residency back to RI.

Heard he was toying with the idea of doubling registration and license fees which would suck for me since I have my CDL and a Bruins plate. FML.

It was so nice when we briefly had the lifetime registrations..knew it wouldn't last long of course.

    Oh fuck that!

I do believe I'd find a vehicle that the ODO could be disconnected. Yes, I went through 5 oil changes and only drove 20 miles last year

That would kind of stick it to the people who bought those nice fuel efficient cars for commuting though

He and Roy from Shipping Wars are hilarious..

Once the pool opens there's at least one naked cannonball per day..it's good for the pool, keeps the chemicals in balance or something
