In California the list of gun "regulations" is endless. They are more than regulations, they are prohibitions.

Many specific guns are prohibited. Many features on guns are prohibited. The ability to get a concealed carry permit is almost impossible. The waiting period to simply buy a gun is 10 days. The list goes on.

These "regulations" prevent law abiding citizens from getting guns. However, they have not stopped criminals from getting guns in anyway.

"A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"

From everything I've heard nobody is against background checks or safety classes. The NRA is in support of promoting these. The argument lies in banning. That's where the two sides disagree on from what I understand.

Most states have these "license" classes as a requirement already. Not to own a gun, but to walk around with said guns in a concealed mannner. What someone does or has, in their home is their business.

I'm talking on the federal level with the new proposals. But since you bring up Cali if everyone is being prevented how is it that members here from Cali have guns including AR15s? Also why do you need to walk out same day with a gun every time? Unless you're planning on committing a crime that day or someone is after you and planning on killing you that day what's it matter. Rights is not a synonym for wants.

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
Exactly, I don't want to get into the damage they cause, but it is the best remedy we've found. I don't want to have to kill them, but I've tried trapping, and they get smart real quick about traps, so like I said, our only solution has been shooting them.

I definitely do not want to live in fear of what might happen if I walk out the door into reality. If my neighbor or brother wants to carry a concealed weapon for protection, great, but that's not me. I also understand the need or desire to hunt for meat, and i enjoy eating it, but I don't need to shoot the animal to enjoy eating it. Even growing up on a cattle ranch, I never wanted to be the one to kill the cow before butchering, but there was always a cousin that was more than happy to do it.
So if any mentally stable law abiding citizen wants to own guns, great no problem, I just can't stand the fear mongering, or the propaganda associated with being "pro gun". I'm pro common sense, to bad there is no test for that.

This thread is interesting. Of course I am not going to object to someone who chooses NOT to own a gun. If you don't like them for what ever reason that is your choice. But I happen to enjoy hunting birds with shotgun, Elk with a rifle, and rabits with 22 rifle or 22 hangun. I also shoot in long range rifle cometition monthly and very much enjoy the comraderie and challenge. So yes I have a few guns of every type. I am not a rabit psyco so you will never hear about me as I enjoy my chosen sport even though I shoot almost every week.

But here is my issue; Most of the Media (TV and radio) portray gun owners as bad people and guns in general as evil devices and they have for nearly 20 years. With the recent Connecticut tragedy the Media has swooped in and turned this into a gun issue and Your President (I will not accept he is My President) will try to make an Executive Order to ban many firearms with the totally misguided goal of reducing violence. EVERYONE know this is total BS, yet it is in the works. So my pastime, my hobby is in jeopardy and this does not make me happy...

So sure you can be gun free, but many of us DO want to own firearms.

BAN all hicap weapons and "assault weapons".... unless it is the federal government selling them to cartel members.... then that is OK because it is just Mexican kids getting wasted every day, not American kids.

License everything.Tax everything. Including breathing. Lots of sheep would rather have the feel good veil of false security hanging over them, and pay for that feeling than actually take care of themselves.

I never said there are regulations that prevent law abiding citizens from owning guns... It was hypothetical to get the point across that regulations only regulate the people who follow them.

no i completly support you opinion. its your life. the post that stated they would rather use a knife instead becuase it is quieter made me wtf. I highly doubt the internet ninja who said that has ever used a knife in that capacity. and people think gun owners are nuts.
